Yeah, Zev was a lewd gross slimeball.

Couldn't be eviscerated quickly enough imo.

Hey! Stop that. He was not. Poor Zevran. Oh well, I guess I personally made up for a lot of Zevran slaying. All my wardens went for him. His romance is the greatest thing since sliced bread, imo.

While his is not my fave Bioware romance......it's high up there on the list. Esp. with Ejoslin's Dialogue Patch & Kisses and the Romance Scenes Mods.:wub::wub:

Sigh, I tried hard to kill Zevran again in da2. I guess David Gaider thought he was too fabulous to kill.

He immediately un-installed the game off his hard-drive after that.

And he didn't consider just, I don't know, not talking to Anders?

Is Bioware stunned by the reaction? Well this can go in three different ways. One, Bioware sees the error of it ways and returns to the DA:O design. Two, Bioware believes they did not go far enough to attract a bigger audience and make more changes. Three, Bioware sits back and takes the best of DA:O and DA 2 to make an awesome DA 3 and DA 2 DLC.
My hope is on three.

Well...getting to know him......ah, whatever. Forget I said anything.:innocent:

Yeah, I know he gets nicer later - it's not like I didn't go there or anything, just because he was a lewd gross slimeball.
(My character would not be realistic at all if she didn't, haha.:innocent: )

Still killed him though.

But then I killed Leliana without hesitation too. I'm weird like that.

Yours,

The Black Widow

That would've been the logical thing to do, but then again, homophones aren't that logical.

That's only temporary Realzmaster. Sort of like a breather in a heavy discussion.

Zevran was written better than Anders for the guys. I don't know personally, because I don't play male PCs, but it's what I heard in the forums.

As far as Anders being part of the lower sales, I, personally, don't think so. Not in any significant number anyway. I do believe that the "everyone is bi or Hawke-sexual" was a time factor. Scripting a hetero is more timeconsuming, than simply leaving all the condition scripts out. I know a few modders over at the Oblivion and NWN 1 and 2 forums, and they tell me that it is easier to simply have the LI swing the way the player wants it.

Given that so many feel that the game was rushed (me included) the devs had to know that people would see it that way. With all these short-cuts, I would be surprised if they didn't see the criticism coming. Like I said before, they simply didn't expect it to be so massive and they didn't expect it to have such implications. They never had to experience this before. That inexperience could also be an explanation why it is handled so poorly at times.

Judging by Gaider's comment about how DA2 romances are for everyone, I disagree. And it's not like removing the bi content from a LI would add to the development time. Hell, if anything, adding the slightly different dialogues for bi romances is what adds to the development time.

And it's Bi, not Hawke-sexual (as stated by Gaider himself).

if I got a loony for every time people brought up the "everyone is bi because the game was rushed." I would be rich.

Bioware used to mean quality and creativity. There was a vision somewhere. I vaguely remember how they wanted to make "the best story driven rpgs ever". No bull****, just quality roleplaying games. Passionate people sharing the same objective. Nowdays it feels like they want to minimize the development time and just release anything that sells enough to justify the development costs. It doesn't matter if the game is medicore, after all they have the massive ea marketing machine backing them up. Before they had to produce quality because they didn't have such a massive machine behind them. "Good games sold themselves". Sure one had to advertise and let the audience know what you were doing, but the marketing campaigns were tastefull and were focused on the game's feautures and storytelling. Nowdays its just blurring, smokes and mirrors. "Think like a general - fight like a spartan", "Press a button and something awesome happens", "This is the new ****". That kind of stuff makes me almost puke. The worst part is that the gaming media is not helping much. They don't keep our side. It took nearly month for the press to realise what kind of letdown DA2 was while most people on various forums noticed it right away.

Well hopefully they learn from this mess and return to the basics, back to the orgins :)

Maybe they still feel they made a great game despite having a larger majority of critics and poorer sales than its predesessor. Maybe they think along the lines of this anoynomous poster on metacritc: Avanost Mar 8, 201110 The immersion and combat of this game are unmatched! A truly moving and fun epic. Anything negative you'll see about this game is an overreaction of personal preference. For what it is, it is flawlessly executed and endlessly entertaining

Not playing a game that address themes you don't like seems pretty logical to me.

Volourn get a new account?

Onward... Sir Cardoc does make some good points, but I'm waiting for another extreme of fans to start to flame him saying origins style is dead, with a few 'neckbeard' comments thrown away along with comments like nightmight as well. Throw in a "you cant change" ones too.

I agree, totally. I dont understand which kind of roleplayers they want to attract with the new formula either. Huge Knockers, lesbians and bucketloads of blood and enough action to keep someone with the attention span of a cat on its toes. This and taking away from the main element of the game, the story, is making wonder what exactly they think about their customers.
