Has BioWare been stunned by the fan backlash over DA2?

TW2 combat, while not perfect, is leagues ahead of DA2 and Origins as well. I can use my joystick (set as mouse) and throttle during gameplay, something I could not do with Origins. It's based on a combination of timing + skills. I have some vids posted on my channel if you're interested, in the uploads section.
TW2 armor is pretty, but not over the top. TW2 has polearms. TW2 2 handed swords are fast, more like Aragorn in LOTR than Aedan Couseland in Origins.
Origins has a better storyline because of the romance, but TW2 has an interesting story as well.
Both are great games. I would recommend Dragon Age: Origins and Two Worlds Two to anyone who had an interest in rpg gaming.

I've actually been playing TW2 for the past couple of months or so and I like it just as much as Origins, but for different reasons. Since you mentioned the game, perhaps it's OK to comment.

Huh?
TW2 isn't even out yet to the best of my knowledge. They are still taking pre-orders.
In what country has it come out "months ago"?

I downloaded the Steam version just prior to that.

*edit* Ahh, you were talking about the Witcher, and I thought you were talking about Two Worlds Two. My mistake.

I've been meaning to buy/play TW2 because they have released it on Mac. I've been hesitant due to the mediocre reviews and may wait for it to go on sale, although Mac games rarely do. Do you think TW2 is a better RGP experience to DA:2? I am a tremendous fan of DA:O and still think it will be a very long time until a game is released that rivals it.

I was released last month, I believe. Direct2Drive has it available for digital download for PC/MAC.
Edit: My apologies - just read above posts - disregard

Hi Lady. I do think Two Worlds 2 is a better rpg experience than DA2, but not quite as good as Origins. I like real time combat, that is what appeals to me in TW2. I wish there was a chance for romance in TW2, but for romance I play Origins.

I agree. That is what makes Origins such a great game IMO- great storyline and the romances are engaging.

This was a fun story about a guy who escaped the blight, and settled in a large city and established himself as part of the community. I liked LIVING in a fantasy world for once, and not having the monumental task to save the world.
The OTT combat animations, lol I liked it, but many people seem to dislike the change from a "Serious" rpg to a flashy action oriented japanese RPG hybrid

Let's bring it back on topic, please. Thank you.
Staying on topic is for people with tunnel vision, Mr. Woo.
Though, if I were to stay on topic, asking your opinion on the matter would be much more beneficial than speculation.
So, are you and your co-workers surprised and/or stunned by the density, intensity and longevity of the negative feedback regarding Dragon Age 2?

DA2 isnt a bad game it just 1.took a different approach from many RPGS. You're not the hero that saves the world, you're just the average joe struggling to get by

1. That's not the reason because people didn't like it. People are upset because they had no god damn choices.
And Bioware could have done choices and still having the story going linear.
2. I'd like that too but Kirkwall is a dead static city that doesn't change one bit after 7 years and even after the big thing in act 2. That doesn't make it very immersive for me so the I live in that city thing does not click at all with me.
3. Yeah because seriously nobody asked for having OTT combat animations and it's retconning the atmosphere that DA:O tried to set and DA:O atmosphere (dark and gritty as they described) was pretty much the seller for me.

Again, don't have a problem with the story (or rather there were, to me, three great stories just begging to be told with details and polish, one for each act). It was the way they were implemented that left the game lacking for me. I loved the story idea(s). I see the epic in them, we just didn't get epic. We got a disjointed mishmash. The potential was definitely there. This is BioWare we're talkin' about after all.

I don't think it is fair to put Mr. Woo in a corner like that guys. He may have things he can and can't comment on due to whom he works for. I am curious I'll admit about the reaction to the backlash.
Yes, they always expect some, hell even before the game is released (DAO people were moaning). But with DAO, it wasn't this vitriolic or long lasting. That is what I would love to be a fly on the wall for out of curiosity nothing more.
I do hope that they realize at least one thing from it. If DA weren't so loved as a franchise this wouldn't be so long lasting or intense. That is a double edged sword, to be sure.
I want to know if the new fans they hoped to get, outshine the core fans they had for the franchise? That is the proof in the pudding, as the saying goes.

I liked this idea a lot, and I even liked the story, it just isn't very engaging as a game- pour moi.Mecha Tengu wrote...

Yeah, definitely not liking those aspects. I hope they tone it down. I prefer to take the franchise a bit more seriously. The OTT combat animations, lol I liked it, but many people seem to dislike the change from a "Serious" rpg to a flashy action oriented japanese RPG hybrid

For me its one of the major gamebreakers. Immersion, for me, means identifying with the character. And I found I don't want to identify with someone pulling these kinds of stunts.
