The one class I find far more attractive in D&D is the rogue, he starts off with decent lockpicking, stealth and all the stuff which makes a rogue desirable. While I find the rogue in combat to be more than adequate, since a little micromanaging goes a long way to fullfill his potential I mainly bring a rogue to do "roguestuff". Traps, stealing and stealthing.
If you start off with stealth/traps you neglect combat and viceversa, I am actually only refering to the early stages of the rogue ... after lvl 12/13 he starts to get what he needs, while the other classes in my oppinion already serve their role well far earlier.
Perhaps I am just imagining things and want the rogue to be a D&D rogue ... and this isnt D&D, but hey ... I stand by my oppinion.
