Please tell me that this game has new creative material and not the same old recycled BS we've seen in the Expanded Universe for the past three-and-a-half decades now

The game was fun for the parts I played, but I haven't seen anything past level 18 so I can' t really tell you how it is past those parts.

I believe in a Bioware staff member on The Old Republic said there were still collector's editions left but they don't know which retailers have them.

Managed to find a website and bought two for friend and gf. There first time trying an MMO and well I wanted them to have the CE Image IPB

For those who don't know (As I have not seen it mentioned yet) they are starting pre-release download for those who pre-ordered the game allowing you to start up early (I believe about five days early).  I got a retail copy so I'll be waiting for that (ME and my stupid bandwith cap ;)  )  But hopefully this will help stagger that initial sign up bombarment that most newly released MMO's get.

If you were in the beta last weekend or the stress test the week before you can patch that to the release version and not download the whole thing again. I'm with you in the 'slow internet' club, it took 4 days to download it.

Actually it starts on December 13, 7 days early and they will be emailing those who preordered starting on December 13 to tell them when they will be able to play.

The early you redeemed your code the higher chance you have to start playing on Tuesday also.

Which is why I'm glad I redeemed my code in August!

I have an e-mail from July 24th thanking me for my pre-order. I have to work all day on the 13th...but have the 14th and 15th off!

The so called customer service is awful.

Can you access online support? Or is that a regional issue you're facing? I've had success with Origin's live chat feature in the past (on the Origin website) with account issues. Hope you get it resolved.

They ignore the web-form requests for help on this issue, constantly returning with a standard "call one of these numbers" reply I tried making an origin account with the same email and login as on swtor.com since I read that  would synch the two up giving me access but that didn't work

I would have to pay ~2.64 USD per minute to get support
wich I would probably have to wait hours for before I could even get through while British, American and
French people can call for free... And there's no reason to ignore
web-form based support requests either since you can't get any more or better info from me over the phone anyway. Talking with me over the email-adress I registered my account (wich holds a CE pre-order I probably won't be able to use until january/February or something when they get their thumbs out of their asses anyway) with would be a lot more secure logically speaking.

What I don't get is why there's no outrage about this treatment?
It's not the first time Bioware treats certain customers as second class
people, I think a lot of people here still remember the whole "not part of the community"-outrage? And I'm most definately not the only one this has happened to either (if swtor forums were up the support forum would probably be swimming in threads about this.).

edit: Fixed it by getting skype and paying for a 1 month subscription (cost basicly the same as 3 minutes at my normal phone rates) with 60 minutes of 'free' calls to numbers in Europe, including UK.

Still don't like having to pay for it but it's better than possibly having to spend $50 on a phone bill due to this cluster[censored].

I wish. Gamestop screwed me over on my Collector's Edition so I had to preorder a CE from somewhere else at a much later date.

I put my preorder code in around the middle to late august, so I'm "hoping" I get in today, on a side note I can't get into the SWTOR website.

On a side note, don't order from Gamestop as I hear they often mess up on Collector's editions and whose supposed to get them.

My main definitely a Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer. Still not sure if I wanna be a healer or dps. I had fun with both I wish there were dual specs at least for the Advanced class you chose. During beta I decided to go healing because it's so much easier finding a group for anything so I think I'll stick with that. Smuggler will be my Republic side character. I really like how fun the class was and come on it's Malcom Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) voicing the male Smuggler.

I'm going Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer to, though I am going DPS spec, I wish I could be DPS and Healing so for groups like you said. Last time I played I often filled the healing role with what few heals I had.

Nope its not Nathan Fillion voicing the smuggler. They credit Maury Sterling. But wish it was. I really thought Smuggler would be my main until I actually played it. But just wasn't pushing my buttons like I thought it would. Largely because I haven't liked the companions so far and just wasn't snarky enough.

Unexpectedly, Jedi Knight ended up pushing those buttons much better. Some really great snarky dialogue if you search for it, and I really like the first two companions. So will probably be doing that as my main.

Well if I ever get in today. Still waiting for them to unlock the pre-order door for me. Anyone else get in yet?

You may want to follow SWTOR on Twitter, they let everyone know every time a batch of emails goes out, The first batch went out about an hour ago, I think they will send emails out every 2 hours or so.
