What kinds of servers do some of you from BSN play on: PVE, PVP, RP, or RP-PVP?

I'm on The Corsair PvE server not much of a pvp player much less open world pvp.

alright i admit i didn't read 16 pages worth of posts, so i will ask here - storyline wise do we find out what happened to characters from kotor 1 + 2?

Yes, at least Exile's and Revan's, but if you're a fanboi and just would like wrap up the story of these ''fine'' characters, then you'll be disappointed. The story doesn't revolve around those characters, they're not almighty the characters you play in the MMO mop the floor with their heads in so many ways. :P

Edit: I play on Lord Calypho EU, RP-PVP

i know it doesn't revolve around the characters, i just want to know if anything else about them was mentioned; like the fact that apparently bastilla and revan got together and had a kid.

That is Jedi Master Ven Zallow. He is killed during that battle by Darth Malgus. Not sure if he pops in the Jedi storylines as a force ghost or anything though as I'm playing Empire.

I'm currently at level 34 with my Imperial Agent and the class storyline has been very solid so far. Its generally quite a bit different than your typical Star Wars storyline, or even KotOR for that matter, because you're working behind the scenes and observing from outside the Sith heirarchy. A lot of the interactions and plot twists are fantastic though and I think it (thus far) certainly rivals the story of KotOR.

The one issue I've got is that, in the MMO space, you're doing so much else (crafting, world arcs, pvp, flashpoints etc...) that it doesn't feel as cohesive as it could. This isn't a huge detriment for me as those other activities are all of high quality but I do have to focus more intently than in a single player title. No pause or saves!

I'm playing on Kaas City, PvE. I personally wanted to roll on a PvP server but my guildmates were a little more interested in raiding etc...

Thx Veex! Well, I think it's good there's so much else to do other than the main class story, right? ;) The game won't get boring once you finish that

I find that this makes it more interesting, because the choices you make are permanent.  You can't save before a conversation, make a choice, then reload if you don't like the outcome.

Also, glad to hear the Agent story is solid all the way to your current level.  I'm only 14 on mine and am really enjoying it! :)

Absolutely, thats one of the largest benefits of an MMO is that it doesn't really "end" per say. I'm really enjoying it so far, looking forward to seeing what else is in store as I start Chapter 2.

I definitely agree. I've killed a seedy mercenary or two that, on reflection, probably would have been great allies for the Empire. On the flip side, I've saved a couple of individuals that I'd love to go back and kill.

The Agent storyline gets very juicy as you near the end of Drommund Kaas, hope you continue to enjoy it :).

Actually, one may escape from a dialogue and repeat before it completes; in case you chose too poorly, or were expecting another reply.

But I miss Pause a lot, as waiting 10 min for a med-bot gets old real fast. Yes; I know this is rather tame compared to other MMO's, but I am not playing on any others; just SWTOR.... *grumblles about lack of RL skill*

Metacritic user score means next to nothing to me most of the time. People bash any game for no reason.

I play on wireless and I think I've been disconnected a total of three times through beta and launch. Are you getting error codes with your disconnects, or just crashes to the character selection screen?

I'm getting error codes, it seems to happen whenever the server goes from light to standard, or heavy to very heavy, stuff like that.

Never heard about 'their kid' specifically, but I've read up on most of the notable things that happened/saw some beta videos, so I pretty much got the gist of it. I'm just gonna flat-out say: I like this game, I really do, but everything I've heard so far about Revan and the Exile's story was kind of a slap in the face to KotOR fans (of both titles), or at least, if you liked being Revan/The Exile and liked having some degree of influence over their fate.

The entire 'Revan mythos' has, in my opinion, been turned upside-down on its head. The geeky awesomeness of a hero who was a Dark Lord-turned-Jedi-Knight again, walking alongside and understanding both the Light Side and Dark Side ways of the force etc., has been significantly reduced once you find out...

.... that he was mostly a puppet.

Which isn't necessarily bad writing or anything. Just a bit disappointing that this was your character and your story once, who was getting hyped by both KotOR/Star Wars fans and BioWare itself to oblivion.

The modern BioWare fanboy might /yawn at this but if it were to happen to Shepard there'd be hell to pay.

I have no idea who that guy from the trailer/artwork is. Im playing a trooper right now though; it's really fun -- I just solo'd the Esseles (early Republic flashpoint) with my companion and the final boss was a Dark Jedi. He was all like 'Haha, you're just a little soldier with no force powers!', and I was like 'Haha, you just wait and see!'

Funny that the strongest boss in this flashpoint is like, the second one (Ironfist), contrary to what Grand Moff Kilran was saying.

As for the class stories, I also thought early Sith Inquisitor was pretty good.

I hate what they've done it seems ridiculous, but I still like the game.

I know, Satele is their descendant but not precisely their child since a few hundred years pass between KotOR and SWTOR.

Those kinds of things are the best. Partly because I genuinely find it pleasing to see characters react to the players based on what class they are, and partly because making smug npc force users eat their own words with a steady concentration of blaster fire is all kinds of satisfying. Hokey religions and ancient weapons, and all that.

I do wish the companions were a little bit better, though. The medic you pickup as a Republic Trooper has probably become my favourite thing in the history of things due to her constant ability to save the day with her comparatively lousy but never ending heals, but past early-ish Taris, 'heroic 2+' has stopped meaning 'soloable with a decent companion', and started meaning 'get another player, fool'.
