As far as getting on and off the ship that would be cool to see again. I'd like to be able to switch out teammates without having to go back to the ship though. I liked how in ME2 you could click on the airlock to change out members.

Windows are structural weaknesses.
Get rid of them altogether.
God help you if the enemy has a stealth system, then.
The Normandy is the only ship that has a stealth system ******.
"The Normandy is not the only ship of her class that the Alliance has constructed. A Citadel NewsNet broadcast in Mass Effect 2 references a 'Normandy-class' stealth frigate, the SSV Ain Jalut, used by the Alliance to launch a raid upon a batarian colony world."

This is totally off topic but windows are probably the worst way to see an enemy stealth ship. The unaided human eye is not going to pick out a ship in the vastness of space.
If you want to see stealth ships, you install sensors that search on the visible spectrum. Windows are irrelevant.

On topic: I agree with OP, I prefered all the "invisible" loading screens to ME2:s loading windows.

...but this was set up by Cerberus.
So in ME3, since you pretty much ditch TIM and take control of the ship for yourself, it wouldn't hurt to be able to pick your XO. Whether there is any consequence to each potential XO would be down to BioWare, and I think that would be pretty interesting.

I love how people act like there was constant conversation on the elevators, it was one line each from the two squad members or a quick news story, then you had to wait 10 more seconds for it to slowly go to whatever floor you were trying to go to. Also, while the airlock thing was cool the first time, it wasn't that great after that and you didn't go from the airlock straight to the planet, it still faded to black and loaded some more after the decontamination.
I like how people somehow pretend this is worse then watching the same identical loading screen over and over again.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but even after the 100th time, spinning the camera around the party to look at Ashley's butt > the same load screen. Plus chances were you changed armors every now and then and the elevators gave you a chance to check them out. Sure, it wasn't non-stop entertainment and the only thing there was to do was moving the camera around and listening to the occasional banter/news report, but at least there was something.

its not like it take much more resources to make a loading screen along with
elevators and such.

Really? Something that petty?
You do know this was actually relatively rare in ME1: just Feros, Noveria, and the Citadel. Everything else was pretty much the same as how its done in ME2, only you were shown getting dropped off in the Mako rather than the shuttle.
Might I add that having to walk from Galaxy Map to airlock in those cases was pretty annoying.
So, no. The thing they have in place is fine. I'm no fan of the load screens, but this is not needed.
You must get really annoyed walking all the way to your garage every morning.
