So, anyone know for sure the definate highest level? Obviously with a Rogue since they can get more than any other class. You may say that you can use your companions to open chests and disarm traps but then you still definately miss out on 100xp at the start
Highest I've got is level 23 Warrior...

27 is the highest you can go, but you need to use respawning zones.

26 is the "normal" highest or a rogue.

I don't understand why they would make level 50 the limit when its unattainable unless you cheat/ glitch/ hack...
They should have places that respawn infinitely but don't give much xp so you can potentially spend all day grinding...

Would you really want to spend all day grinding? It's probably capped at lvl 50 to allow for future content.

use some heroic exilir or something like it to "spam" your level (though we need a ton of sovereign to play this trick ) and see what is the cap of the level. For me I haven't tried it yet because I don't have much money, and more over, my armor quality will be more and more reduced as my character's level increase, so I didn't like this idea much. But let's have a try someday

There's no point in grinding to level 50 as the best weapons currently in the game are suited for lvl 25ish. Since enemies scale with your level it would become impossibly hard as your weapons wouldn't be good enough..

And the higher level cap is obviously for future DLC.

You can only buy one elixir of heroism, doesn't matter how much money you have. And I hear random drops scale with your level.

With the elixir, all DLC, doing every quest, disarming every single trap and visit places again and again, I managed to reach 26+3/4.

Enemy weapon and armor drop scale with your level.

Also, there are enough "weapon improve with level up" to make do.

The real problem is the lack of slots on random armors.

all randomly generated items scale based on the level of the PC. This includes items sold in shops.
This has been tested at level 50.

Level 27 is about as high as I've been able to attain, and that was buying the +1% xp ring from Black Emporium as soon as possible. I got about 50% of the way through level 27, For those who pre-ordered game and got "Lion of Orlais" shield, then level 28 is within the realm of possibility.

Hmmm not sure what im missing then.. I've done all the quests i could find, cleared the streets in every act disarming and opening chests, reading every book and i only ever got 25 and a half

Fourth play, level 50 first 3, (x-box), leveling is possible, but enemies DO rise with level. The only huge advantage is when the shard is found in Zarric's haunted brother's house, enchantment boi can make a speed increase item for your character that is beyond belief to witness with Warrior and Rogue. The number of night-fights is endless it seems in lowtown, Hightown etc.; eventually revealing hideouts for all. My Ladyhawke was a killing machine when strength was over 100 and equipped with the speed enchantment. Most of the time the others didn't have time to kill- so I used her alone on many quests.
