I like big loots i can not lie!
I try to find places where on random loot can be very good.
Mostly interested in random gold and random rare items. Also noting fixed gold drops.
aprox chances - low <10%  , med 10-25% , high 25-50%. Fixed- 100% - else : unknown.
rof - the value is with bonus from runes of fortune - the bonus is act 1 : 10-20%, act 2 : 40-60% , act 3 : 40-80%

ACT I (1g min)
Birthright - 9g (fixed)
Arane horror - long way home - 5g (fixed)
Danzig - 3g
Wayward son - chest in cave - 1g
Act of mercy -  Decimus - 2.5g
Deep roads chest before dragon - 2g
Deep roads dragon - 3.5g
Chest in room after bartrand betrayal - 3g (med%) / rare bow/shield
Profane chests (2 of those first is locked second is where you get offered a deal) - +%electricity acc. (v low%)
ARW treasure ~14g (fixed)
ARW - rare belt/staff (low%)

ACT II (2g min)
Wounded coast cave (Forbidden knowlage ) - one of  treasure piles - 4-5g and 5g/rare from dragon - rof - (low%)

ACT III (3g min?)
de Launcet mension treasury - 4 chests - 3 of them can have rare (med%) (yes its possible to get 3 rares there) or ~4g (low% )

OTHER:
Blood mages : +blood conversion generic items (low%)

Blood Mages drop nice blood mage gear. I'd say less < 10%.

Unless you're only interested in value as in gold?

gold/rares mostly. As for generic items it depands on stats. For example +%fire is ez to get from shops but %cold is much harder and +% electricity cant be bought.

Well, there you go then. The Blood Mages in the Last Holdouts for example can drop a nice BM cold and electricity staff. I've also gotten nice BM boots with +%.

Decimus dropped 3g along with the Hypnotist's staff in Act 1 (NM, PC). I'm not sure if the coin is a random drop or not.

ARW may sometimes drop 6g(xbox). Though I've been only able to produce those results on causal difficulty. Tried it multiple times on nightmare got nothing.

In the room directly right from the entrance in Castillon's Landing, there's a few chests with money in them, and one of them has 13-15g.

I just got 8g and change from him on NM, first time I've ever seen that.

difficulty does not affect loot tables, only potion threshold drop levels

Just got over 8g from Varterral and 8g from a treasure cache in the Varterral's room, but that was with close to 100% increased coin. So static gain is over 4g on each, but both could just have been random.

Has anyone looked into just how beneficial it is to have 'drop better items' or 'drop more gold' items equipped?

I often face a decision as to whether I want to keep lesser items with these attributes or not. I can never tell just how 'worth it' it is to have these items on for long periods of time.

6g from the Monstrous Spider during the Justice quest, when you're looking for the Drakestone.

6g from a chest at the end of the area when you're looking for Evelina during On The Loose.
