Has anyone actually had her side against you? Or know where a video of it might be located? Apparently if you side with the mages she betrays you but Ive tried at both max friendship, max rival and right in between the two. Im beginning to doubt its possible but still am unsure.
Anyone know if she actually can side against you?

I gave Fenris to his master so would that alter the outcome? Also I gave Isabela to the Arishok So would I have to spare one or both of them to do it?
Yes. If Fenris isn't there (for whatever reason), then Aveline will always be loyal. It's hardcoded.

Damn =(.. Trying to end the game with as few companions as possible ( My Hawkes a bit of an arse lol) thanks for the reply btw =D
So I guess if I want this to happen I will have to friend Fenris and not friend Aveline.. hmm cant see it happening lol. Fenris's disgust of mages is rather annoying to say the least =P. Guess my curiousity will have to go unsated. Or just eagerly await for someone to record it and put it on youtube lol

From now on, every playthrough, he's getting sold to Danarius. Knife-ear scumbag deserves to be a slave to a blood mage.

Wait, why didn't you ever bother doing Alone?Rifneno wrote...
Huh. Well, trying to see this lead me to seeing how someone can take one of the evilest options in the game. I tried seeing what Aveline does with low approval, but I couldn't get Fenris to stop stabbing me in the back. Even consoling his approval to full. Apparently because I hadn't done the quest with Danarius yet (although I did all his others) he keeps turning on me. I just spent 3 years teaching this maggot to read after I saved him from about 100 slavers, and he's got the gall to attack me for refusing to help commit genocide against the Circle that my sister is in.

To be fair, he never asks you to teach him and - if you use him, that's it - he helps Hawke in many missions, too.
He just wanted your support and Alone is the mission that really proves - to him - that Hawke cares about him.
So, in your case, why should he care about your sister if you never cared about his?

To be fair, Fenris is sort of a ****. You have to put up with his **** the entire game, not unlike Anders. I get it you were a slave, I get it, your a mage. Can we move on to a new topic?
What I'm saying is, putting up with him makes you even. I like him and I keep him in my party, but Jesus Christ, he can carry on.

Then you can say that Fenris is tired you you getting tired to put up with him... and not killing the mages is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Oh, I know. I always play mage and sometimes I just want to strangle him but then I remember he is my tank and Aveline is worse. /sigh/

There were lots of quests I hadn't done. I had barely begun on side quests in Act III when I saw the thread asking about Aveline. I knew I had her at medicore approval (I almost always played the good guy, but I chewed her out good for some her idiotic remarks in dialogues in the barracks) so I figured I'd go test it. I was quite shocked to find Fenris, who was at least over 75% approval, stabbed me in the back.
In hindsight though, I can't bring myself to let the magister walk away all the time. So I'm just going to never help the broody hypocrite and give him the chance to join in the first place.

How's he to say I didn't care about his? I never knew about it. I hadn't gotten the quest from him yet when Anders bombed the Chantry.

If refusing to kill my innocent sister whom even he says is a shining example of a good and strong mage is "the final straw" for him, then he deserves any possible fate that can befall him. Daraius' footstool included. He doesn't just leave the group, he comes back with the templars and actively tries to kill Hawke. He's no better than his sister.

Why not kill him? He's giving both mages in general and Tevinter in particular a bad name.In hindsight though, I can't bring myself to let the magister walk away all the time. So I'm just going to never help the broody hypocrite and give him the chance to join in the first place.

Because that would mean saving Fenris' worthless hide in Act I.

Haha, I just love how emotionally invested you are in the game Rifneno.
Oddly first game I did nothing with Fenris, no quest or even a trip to the gallows.
He still sided with me, switching sides on the steps of the gallows.
As for Line never had her go against Hawke tbh, she's prety much attached to the hip it seems.

This. God, this. It's ike these two don't have anything else to do but to brood over politics. Its even more annoying to see them go at it all the time. Don't they have any interests outside this whole mage/templar thing?
