Hello all,

I just bought the Steam version of ME1 and 2. I started playing part 1 (duh!) but encounter a problem.
My problem is as following: I play the game without problems until I have to use the elevator to The Citadel Tower .... It goes up a small piece and then the game crashes.

I tried the next steps:

1. Run the configuration util
2. Disabled UAC
3. Run the game as administrator
4. Run the game as administrator and XP SP3 compatibility
5. Run the game with the lowest graphical settings as possible
6. I did the latest driver install from NVidia

I read something about 8800 card problems? I hope someone can help me out. This forum is filled with w7 64b problems but the search option did not reveal any elevator problem.

Thnx in advance!

My setup is:

Does the crash always happen in the same place? In that case it's probably a corrupt file did you try reinstalling? Verifying files?

On a side note your pagefile looks massive what the hell are you running in the background? lol

Yes, the crash is always at the same moment. As the elevator reaches the 2 light bar. (light bar between floor or something). I will try the rapid transport although that takes me to the tower not up the tower if I am correct.

Since nothing else seems to help I will try a re-install after that.

@moondoggie: that is quite a normal pagefile?

see: http://technet.micro...e/ff382717.aspx

I will keep you informed.

As moondoggie stated, crashes that occur in the same place is normallythe hallmark of a corrupted file more than anything else. Until recently, I was also running the 8800 card and had no problems with it in ME1 or ME2, so its not acrd related.
Try reinstalling the game/verifynig steam cache. If that doesnt work, post your system details and full error report as it states in the "How To" thead, stickied at the top of the forum. We dont need the wall of text like OP, just a summary of hardware, drivers, and exact problem.
