 Death Blow doesn't restore any stamina.

I've tested it both with Alistair and my character and neither get an increase in stamina when killing someone.

I've even go to the extent of my character killing alone a foe (so no one else hit him since he was full health till he died) but still no stamina restored.

This is most annoying considering is a basic warrior skill
