Ok, I felt myself a jerk when sent her and all crew without any support. About subject, Chackwas had tiny quest and few lines in ME2, so it's not a big deal to make something similiar for her and her possible alternative in ME3. Everyone is happy.

Yeah, Chakwas is one of the harder characters to kill off (only if you don't send an escort). I didn't even know she could die until not too long ago.

Clearly, if you let Chakwas die, it's because you don't really need a doctor on the ship.
Just slap some medi-gel on that bullet wound. Don't need to go to medical school to figure that one out.

Besides, she never did anything anyway, except get drunk.

First of all, just because you never saw her fixing up one of Shepard's burn wounds or removing a stray piece of debris from his abdomen doesn't mean she's useless. Medigel doesn't fix everything, we still need doctors.

All of which took place off screen, and could easily be done by a generic npc.  Even in ME1 when you are knocked loopy by the beacon she just ask you a question or two and talks with what's his face before Eden Prime.  Joker and EDI played more significant roles then Chakwas.  The plot of the ME franchaise has little use for a medic.

You either don't go after the Collectors quick enough, or you rescue them and make them go back to the ship alone (or with the wrong escort?).
