yeah i think i am having the exact same problem you are... after completing "Lothering" i was sent to the party camp. i entered the world map and clicked on the gold colored "bann lorens lands" icon. after completing "bann lorens lands" and getting the key to the kings chest i was told to return to Ostagar. i entered the world map and clicked on the gold icon "return to ostagar". an animation of black ink spots appeared on the map connecting my current position of "bann lorens lands" towards "ostagar" but about halfway there the symbol of two swords clashing appeared and i was taken to place called "the low road". here i killed a pack of wolves and clicked the transition area to return to the world map. at the world map i once again clicked on the gold "ostagar" icon and black ink spots began to appear moving towards "ostagard" from my current location of "the low road" but then an error popped up with the text "cannot load area" and then i was kicked to the main menu. tried going back to an earlier save/ going back to "party camp" but each time it just gives the error and kicks me to the menu. just like you i found only pleas for help and no solutions.
hey iThunda can you tell me if you got the error trying to go from "the low roads" to "ostagar" or did you get it somewhere else? not that it matters because from what i can gather ea and bioware are such corporate brick walls no help will be found, but im curious where you were located when you attempted to return to ostagar.
this game is broken and i want my money back.

Hi, my name is George. How may I help you?
2345584905: Hi George. I'm having problems with playing the dlc that came with my boxed Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition
2345584905: I've finally managed to authorize it and now in-game i'm unable to play it due to it saying 'unable to load area' for every single dlc
2345584905: can you please help me out?
George: Due to the nature of the issue, I’ll need to forward the matter for further review. One of our Senior Support staff members will review the matter and get back to you, via e-mail, within 24-48 hours.
George: Meanwhile, we thank you for your continued patience.
2345584905: ok then. Is there nothing else that I can maybe try in the meantime?
George: No, please wait for a response on your email now
George: You will be assisted well here
2345584905: ok. thanks
George: Bye and take care
Seriously now, I waited 2 months for this game to be delivered from the US since a retail version of this game for pc is not available in South Africa. It arrived yesterday. Since then I've had to contact EA support 3 times regarding errors during installation, allegedly unauthorized dlc content, and now all of my dlcs can't be played due to an 'unable to load area' error. The reason I bought this game even though I already own copies of Origins and Awakenings is because where I am from, I don't have a stable and readily available internet connection where I can just download dlcs to my heart's content (seriously, right now, I'm at an internet cafe paying the equivalent of $5 for 30mins of internet time so that I can find a fix or patch or something to actually play the game).

You don't connect to internet regularly? That's probably part of your problem.

This is a serious issue.
I purchased the ultimate edition through steam this weekend, and have ran into a similar problem. Upon trying to do Return to Ostagar, my game quits and tells me it has an error loading that area, tried redownloading the DLC, to no avail. Sigh, I understand games will be bugged but down right broken???? Come the f on

ONE incomplete report is all that is needed. Duplicating is frowned upon. But choosing to withhold information needed to answer the question is just cutting your own nose off.
Please aloow this thread to pursue its own course, you have another one started that you need to either withdraw from, or finish making a report about.
