In dragon age origins OE I can't connect to the EA servers although I can connect to them on Need for speed: undercover and when I try to play online it lets me make a private match but then says I disconnected after 10 seconds; I purchased Dragon age on steam this monday and would like to play it but I can't access the DLC until I sign into my account thats registered with it, but I can't due to the inabiltiy to connect to the EA servers.. :(

Any suggestions would be appreciated

You're not the only one having server connection problems.

Ever since the April 8th to 11th server clusterF was resolved, every time I start DAO, it gives me an error "Try again" on the autologin, after which I need to enter my password again before it connects.

THEN, it keeps randomly throwing me out and refusing to reconnect unless the I close DAO and start it up again. I can get into the login screen and can enter my password, but the login button is disabled.

And now it's just flat out refusing to connect OR unable to detect an open internet connection and claiming I don't have one and maybe lets me connect one time in five. It's been like this all the goddamn time since that outage in the beginning of April, so somebody had better go and take a look at the server side.

It would also help if they resolved this bull**** in the final patch.

Agreed, I would like to be able to sign in for the first time to access my DLC, but no EA has to store it on a server, so if the world does get nuked and I am playing on my laptop hooked up to a backup generator I won't be able to play my DLC because it is on a online server, I mean I might as well use my laptop as fire wood then...

If you launch DA and on the launcher screen, go to Configure.  Click on "Repair" and try adding a firewall exception again.  Also, click on "Game" and make sure the CD Key is showing.  Reboot after re-adding the firewall exception to make sure it takes effect.

Thanks for the replies, after more searching through the forum and found that the infamous "system error" was the problem.

I came across this link:

Thanks,

This has been plaguing me in the same way.

Re-entering the password always connects immediately, and if the game is logged in, I quit and reload, it comes back logged in fine. But every first attempt after a reboot (or similar) will always fail.

Any news on what's triggering this and how to fix it, or is it a case of wait for the patch?

Ah... that's important.  Can you check something for me?  One the game lancher screen, select "Configure" and then "Game" from the list of options on the left.  A question:  Do you see your game's CD key listed there?

Also, does your password have any special characters in it?  Other then regular numbers and letters?

CD key is listed on the configure/game area, and there are no special characters in the password.

I having the same problem when going into the game. Login fails. I renter my password and it connects fine until I close the game and later play again.I solved it for a bit by deleting my profile but it is back to this again now.

Same question... is your CD key appearing in the configuration menu? (see my earlier post, above).

If it isn't, there may be some info you can send to the developers to help isolate a fix.
