The Warden. Screw Commander Shep- I mean Hawke. And Shale, Zev, Sten, Alistair, Loghain, Varric, Morrigan, Oghren, Dog from Origins(Dog in DA2 sucks!). I would like those characters to return a great deal.

Assuming it's a brand new protagonist, which I would hope, then perhaps Bethany or Carver. They could work whether you play as Hawke or a Warden as well, considering they are Hawke's sibling, and if you make them a Warden, they are one too. They also got less character development than the other companions.
I'd also like to see more of Shale, and the companions from Awakening and Witch Hunt. Characters that have un-tapped potential as proper companions.

Well, my private (and now public) fantasy for a sequel or expansion would be Anders and Hawke knocking down Circles and shooting lightning at fools. And angsting terribly over what happened in DA2. But somehow I doubt the lead-a-rebellion-while-trying-to-repair-your-relationship genre is going to catch on. Plus, I get the feeling Anders is dead in too many people's games to ever come back as more than a brief cameo.

I think DA3 will happen during the same time line as DA2 and include that special thing the wardens were talking about. Hence I don't expect to see any DA2 characters.
In terms of who I would still like to see, definitely Bethany. But I doubt it will be implemented since she only has a slim chance of surviving.

I don't know about the party members from DA2. Anders might make a return since he had so much to do with the story of number 2.
I wonder if all your LIs will be with you, though that might be very hard to work in so they might just cut them out, like they did with Awakening.
I have a wonder about Cullen though, he's appeared in both Dragon Age game thus far. I wonder if he will be a party member for number 3.

I liked Varric, but I don't know if I genuinely liked him or if he just seemed like a huge improvement over Oghren. But I hated the bulk of the companions especially Merril and Aveline.

I voted for Anders but there are so many companions I have love for, so my list would be pretty long. Honestly, the only companion I've never liked is Carver. I loved all the DAO companions in my own way, and I loved all the DA3 companions even more so.

Lol You know I never thought about that. It would be pretty neat to see your mage character blast someone with a fireball rather than stabbing them with a murder knife.

:---D In my opinion mages should never be trusted with knives since they only manage to stab themselves with them. Everytime you see them in DA holding a knife, they never use it to say, butter a toast. Always with the wrist slitting and stabbing themselves. Srsly, all the problems in the circle could be avoided if they made it a knife-free-zone.
So the first time I saw my Mage Hawke throwing knives circus-style it did seem a tad off!

I really want to see Merril again. She always made me laugh. I'm surprised so many voted for Fenris. I mean I liked him fine and I wouldn't mind seeing him return but he's not that great.

It looks like she's not too popular, but I voted for Aveline. It surprised me how much I liked her character. Her visual design didn't appeal to me when she was first revealled, but every aspect of her character (and even her looks) grew on me. It sure helped that she was no-nonsense and one of the few sane people in the game.
I did like Anders, but what he did at the end of the the game really left a sour taste in my mouth. Plus he was so sad throughout the whole game.

Hey everyone, would love to see Morrigan return with Warden (if in romance) etc, I absolutely loved her character and personality in every way. I find her character is so interesting, she is both strong and vulnerable as she is able to surpress emotions and has a zero tolerance on incompetance. She also makes it clear that she hates love and emotions, yet she secretly wants to be cared for as seen in the romance subplot. At the very least, I think it would be great to see her return in a cameo scene or DLC pack with the warden after Witch Hunt, or depending on what choices were made by the warden either male or female.
