I would love to see Morrigan return with the warden (if in romance) or what ever the relationship was at the end of Origins or Witch Hunt etc. I absolutely loved her, she was amazing and was by far my favorite character. I found her character and personality to be very interesting and in depth, as she was both strong yet vulnerable. She surpresses emotions and abhors incompetance, remaining incredibly focused, and while she claims she hates love, she is conflicted as she secretly wants to be cared for or even loved for as seen in the romance subplot, and shows genuine feelings for the warden. This only scratches the surface of how in depth her character was, and at the very least I think it would be great to see Morrigan with or without the warden in a DLC or camoe in DA:3.

I'm curious to see if Fenris returns and what kind of role he'll have in the game. It's surprising how much you can do with the whole "I was a slave but now I'm free" backstory

Hmm... I can easily say who I *think* will return.
DA:O:
Shale... there was a little moment where she was thinking about researching how to return her to her Dwarven form. Potential plot flag there.
Sten... returned to his people and then in DA2 it seemed like the power of the Qunari was on the rise, so I would not be surprised at all to see him again, especially if DA3 includes a return of the Hero of Ferelden as a plot device.
Leliana... she's already been established as a fixture in DA, due to her new position in DA2 as the right hand of the Divine. We'll definitely be seeing her again.
Morrigan... hells yes. She had a baby with a grey warden as part of her/Flemeth's plot to take over the world (or whatever their goal was). That kid IS a part of the DA future, no doubt. Plus, she had a whole DLC devoted to her and she *didn't* appear in DA2 (although Flemeth alluded to her on the mountain) which means they're saving her up for something big.
Flemeth... let's see, incredibly powerful dragon witch who seems to be immortal? Heh... yea, we'll be seeing her again real soon.
Oghren... he's now a grey warden so he's got limited time on his hands but I suspect that if there's any Deep Roads action, we may bump into him. He wasn't terribly popular from what I could tell on the forums though ("Wait, out of all the characters, you brought back OGHREN?! F@#$!") and he's already had his little Awakenings redux so... maybe not.
Zevran... meh. He's still young and he had a cute cameo in DA2, etablishing that he gets around and that he knows Isabela. I don't see him as an integral character in the future but he's a plot bunny when you need one.
Wynne... went on and on throughout DA:O about how old she was and how *maybe* she had enough energy for *one* more fight... so, I don't see her coming back unless they evolve her into another form. She would make a great Spirit of Goodness or something like that. For example, the spirit inside her takes her when she dies and elevates her to a higher form of existence where she can help people as the Maker sees fit.
Bodhan & Sandal... hehehe, of COURSE! Who else is going to buy my crap and make my enchantments?! No one, that's who!
Awakenings:
Nathaniel... yea, that's a big ole plot bunny waiting to strike and he didn't get pulled into DA2 so I think they were letting him cool off. He'll be back, possibly in a limited role like the Leliana cameo in DA2 but he'll be back. He could be the Anders of DA3. I have my suspicions...
Anders... very popular but used to death in two DA releases, Awakenings and 2 so I'm sorry to say that I think his time is up. Plus, he's a grey warden so he's only got so much time as it is. Plus, there's a good chance he was killed off in 2. I don't have high hopes for his or Justice's futures.
Velanna... out of all the DA characters, (aside from Morrigan/Flemeth), I see this one coming back with a vengeance. Something about her. I feel like she's got more to do, more to say, etc. So many places the writers could expand her story.
Sigrun... might be nice to have some further development here. She felt like kind of an afterthought to me in Awakenings, like the team said, "We need another character. What do we do?" but I feel like she was a bit under-developed. Not sure if this was a lack of interest or they were just saving her for something bigger TBA later.
DA2:
Fenris... ah, my sweet, angsty elf. You asked who I *want* to see return. THIS GUY! /swoon But, will he? Dunno. He's very well developed and I get the feeling David Gaider really liked this character but, Alistair kind of went the way of the dodo into the land of obscure cameos. I suspect it shall be Fenris' fate as well. Dammit!
Aveline... married off and firmly ensconced in her role as Guard Captain. I didn't feel there was a lot of love being saved up for the Big Girl. Don't see her coming back in anything more than an honorable mention or a brief cameo.
Varric... yea, he's coming back. He had a big part in DA2 but, like Anders from Awakenings, he would be such a great carry over. There's story room for him and I sense Gaider love for him too. He would be great as the first romanceable dwarf, especially since Bioware already responded to the fans who were disappointed that they couldn't romance Anders in Awakenings. Look what happened there. If the artists can work out the height difference for kissing (and other stuff), I think there's a good chance you could be getting a rose from this guy in the near future.
Sebastian... yep. I see him coming back in some form. He wasn't completely fleshed out (ie: used up) in DA2 so there's room for growth. Plus, he could become a higher up in the chantry or he could become a new noble for the new DA3 hero to ally with... yea, tap that.
Merrill... maybe. At the end of DA2 she's going to help the other elves in the Alienage, keep exploring the history of the Dalish, or in a relationship with the Champion. Any way you cut it, she's a fixture. We'll see her again but it will probably be in a limited capacity. She's already been a romance option. Those don't tend to come back as main characters.
Isabela... my dusky goddess. Love her or hate her, she kinda steals the show in DA2. From her eye-popping (button popping) costume to her party banters to her hard won romance with the Champion, she's just too great to leave behind. She'll be taking us somewhere in the near future, with or without her ship.
Maybe I forgot one or two along the way but those are the ones I have thoughts about. As far as who I'd like to see (FENRIS), I don't think my option matters. Bioware has never let me down as far as interesting companions goes. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

If Hawke is the protagonist I would really like to see his romance come with him. The thing I hated most about DA2 was how Bioware treated the Wardens romances. Even in Dragon Age Awakenings you get separated from your companion to go galavanting around and save ferelden again. Call me sentimental but I would have rather had Leliana with me then any of the other characters. However I really hope they bring the WARDEN back as a main character. The last game I played I left with Morrigan through the Eluvian so I would really like to know what happened after he left. If the Warden comes back I'd like to see Morrigan of course. I really think they are going to bring the warden and Hawke both back in the next game and mix things up. Other then that I don't really have any preferences I just want them to fit in the story and not show up where they don't really belong in the story. I'd rather not see characters then have them ruin the story. I also think that the best placed side characters will be the romanced companions coming back with them. I'm sure we'll see some cameos from Flemeth, Cullen, Cassandra and people like them.
