The Templar and 3 Mages



This is just a little story board of a my current game in progress that I want to do to load in DA2 where the warden and Alistair rebuild the Grey Wardens and thought it would be fun to have most of the game (once they get Wynne) played with Ali and 3 female mages..

I hope it's fun..

The major characters..  Alistair, Raven, Morrigan, and Wynne

The story begins after Raven is forced to leave the Circle, travels to Ostagar with Duncan, becomes a Grey Warden, Loghain betrays the King' s army, Flemeth saves them and Morrigan has joined them in fighting the Blight, they went to Lothering for supplies,

Raven .... This poor girl has been through a lot..



She was forced to leave her first love...

Cullen a Templar at the Circle she was raised in..

she met the handsome King and was quite fond of Duncan,

both lost in the battle of Ostagar

She found some new friends


One a new Warden himself, one witch and one slightly daft young girl

Sten - he is well ..... He is Sten


And in her travels thus far she has also found a new love...


and a new, powerful enemy



And it has been less than 2 weeks since she left the Circle....

As Raven and company leave Lothering they encounter two battles
farmers wanting the "bounty" on their heads



and as they approach the "hightway" a Darkspawn.. scouting party..



Raven meets a merchant dwarf and his son.. but, they decline to travel with the Grey Warden.


but when they reach camp by nightfall... she finds that they have followed her..

and she allows them to stay

Later Raven is awoken by a nightmare



Alistair tries to calm her and explain about being a Warden and "hearing them"


What's next for this mage...

Later in Camp..

Raven tries to learn more of Leliana discovering she was a Bard. Raven senses that the little redhead is not quite being fothcoming but she doesn't push her. * we all have our secrets*



They return briefly to Lothering and Raven learns of the Arl of Redcliff's illness and of the "Ashes" that could possibly cure him..


Returning to camp they come across a young woman, claiming that her traveling companions have been attacked.
they follow her and the elf she stands by is not giving them a friendly wave..


It's an AMBUSH !


The fight is over almost as quickly as it begun with only one survivor who is anxious and most willing to talk



He's an assassin and hired by Logain.. but makes a plea and a bargain for his life. Raven decides to spare the 'silver-tongued" elf and inlists his aid in fighting the Blight.

Zevran pledges himself to the service of Raven.


and for the first time since she's known them.... Alistair and Morrigan agree - "it's a bad thing to do"


Back in camp.. Leliana approaches Raven and admits that she wasn't completely honest with her. She told of her mentor and of the betrayal, capture and escape from certain death.



And Zevran entertained her with tales of his exploits and flirted with her shamelessly.

After several days on the road..Alistair convinces the group to go to Denerim to freshen supplies.
They stop to enjoy the view...


Alistair struck by remorse tells the truth of his lineage to Raven and speaks of his sister.. who happens to live in Denerim..

Not only is Alistair a bastard but he is a Royal Bastard and heir apparant to the throne?

Raven taken back was about to scold Alistair for not telling the truth earlier was interrupted by an attack...
after the brief encouter they spoke with one of the would be assassins and learned that Leliana was the target this time.l


Leliana.. concerned that she had put her new friends in danger asks to go to Denerim so that she may confront Marjoline.


"Looks like we have a busy day ahead of us, and here I thought this was going to be a shopping trip"


Leli confronted her former Mistress - unfortunately it ended with Marjoline's death


this brought an unexpected sadness to Leli


Later they found Goldana's home and Alistair finally got to meet his sister- who was quite cold to him and seemed only interested in money.



"Wow, that didn't go well!" "I'm sorry, Alistair"


After picking up the needed supplies they headed back to camp.. the trek back to camp was uneventful.. and very quiet as Alistair and Leliana obviously were somewhere else and hardly uttered a word.

Later in camp they discuss going to the Circle to fulfill one of the treaties.. they have been hearing rumors and Raven is concerned. The First Enchanter is like a father to her and she is anxious to see him)

She talks to Sten to get know and understand him. They talk of why he came to Fereldon and why he cannot return to his homeland. "All because of a lost sword" She promises Sten that somehow they will find it.

Morrigan approaches Raven and tells her that there is a gremoir of Flemeth's in the Circle and if possible would like to find it. However, Raven suggests that Morrigan would be considered and apostate and should not go to the Circle with them.


As she leaves Morrigan's tent she spots Alistair and walks over to discuss their plans for the morrow. Her heart skipping a beat as she looks into those hazel eyes of him. "Maker, he's handsome!"
They discuss what they may find at the Circle and hope it is not as dire as the rumors make out.


Raven bids Alistair a Good Night but he stops her.. and tells Raven of his deepening feelings for her...


Raven confesses her love to him..



And now... just for now... all seems right...

The Templar and 3 Mages.. continued..

They head to the Circle and upon arriving at the lake they see a man scavaging ... he tells them that the person here before him went to Ozammar and may have Sten's sword..

Raven looks across the lake... the tower, Cullen.. fear grips her at the thought of what they will find there...


Gregore explains the situation in the tower and tells them that he applied for Anullment of the entire Circle..

Raven talks Gregore into letting her and her companions search for survivors..

The great doors slam behind them as they enter the Apprentices' quarters.. all seems quiet at first and as the enter the next room Raven recognizes Wynne as she battles a demon.

After sealing the doorway Wynne explains what has transpired at the tower and how they have survived..

Raven tells Wynne of Gregore's plan and agrees to help the Mages with Wynne's help.


Wynne prepares and warns of the dangers... Raven then asks Wynne to open the magic seal she placed...

Before they step through the doorway, Alistair pulls Raven to him...
"Wait, before we go in to face whatever is in there - he kisses her.................... "For luck"


They wade through several battles with abominations, and possessed templars and come across a tranquil ... it seems that Blood Magic is indeed at work in the tower...


They continue on and come across a powerful demon.. who puts them all under it's spell and sends them to the Fade .....


It's a beautiful dream... Raven is reunited with Duncan... but, something is wrong... and then she remembers where they are and how..

She then has to fight Duncan.. a cruel dream...

Through mazes and many battles Raven manages to reach the others and help them out of their dreams..

They fight their way to the center chambers and find Cullen. He is trapped behind some sort of shield and does not trust that Raven in not a blood mage's trick

Her heart goes out to him, recognizing the torturous thoughts he is suffering because of the blood magic. He tells them that the mages are all trapped in the Harrowing Chambers.

Concerned for the mages they rush to their aid.. and win the battle for the Circle
They are promised the aid of the Circle of Magi when the battle begins against the Blight.

Besides being battle weary from their struggles at the Tower, Raven finds herself struggling in another arena, her heart. She recalls her time with Cullen and the love that was growing between them.... and with her feelings now for Alistair ...

The Templar and 3 Mages
After Uldred's defeat and order restored to the Circle, Raven learned that she had the support of both mages and Templars in the battle against the Blight.

It wasn’t the vision of Cullen trapped in Uldred's magical prison in the Circle Tower that unnerved Raven, it was his coldness towards her that gave her pause to think.

She remembered him as a somewhat shy when she first met him, but as time passed he grew more friendly and had a dry wit that she loved. She smiled to herself as she remembered some of the stories he told of “Templar mishaps”. Of course it was against the rules for them to be together but there was the excitement of secret rendezvous’ and stolen kisses.

“Maybe that’s really all it was…. certainly circumstances have dictated that it would never be more.” And with that Raven felt surer of herself and of Alistair.

She looked over to Alistair as he was talking to Wynne, checking on her to be sure she had no injuries. Her heart went out to him as Wynne gave him some tea and reminded him that she was the healer and not him.

She walked over to Morrigan’s tent and gave her the Black Grimoire she found in the Senior Mage Quarters while they were still fighting in the Circle’s tower.


Later Alistair came to her fire.. “I think we should go into Denerim and do some shopping. I’d like a new outfit and you should probably get something more practical as well.”

Answering the quizzical look on Raven’s face, Alistair explained.


“Bodahn heard a rumor of a fellow survivor of Ostagar. I want to go to Denerim to see if there is more information. Also we should try to find this Brother Genitivi that Ser Henric mentioned in his note. Maybe he can lead us to the Sacred Ashes.

So they did a little shopping and then found someone with a little more information…on both the rumored survivor and where to find Brother Genitivi.


It seems that a survivor of the battle has escaped from captivity who can be found and is seeking the help from the Grey Wardens. He was last known to be in Bann Loren's lands.
And Brother Genitivi lives here in Denerim..

Within Brother Genitivi’s home they meet Weylon, who nervously reports that Brother Genitivi has gone missing on his current research trip. But Raven senses that something is not right and approaches the backroom, Weylon stops her. Raven accuses Weylon of hiding something and at that he attacks her and Weylon does not survive.

Exploring the rest of Brother Genitivi's House, they find the real Weylon lying in a pool of his blood. Looking amongst his books they find Brother Genitivi's research, which indicates he was headed for the Village of Haven in search for the Andraste's Ashes.

They talk it over and decide to head to Bann Loren’s to seek out this survivor, then to New Haven to search for the Ashes before going to Redcliffe.


Shortly after entering Bann Loren’s lands they come across several guards accosting a lone man.

Seeking out the rumored survivor in Bann Loren’s lands they come upon guards attacking a lone man..
He looks familiar… but as they approach the guards spot them


As the guards turn to attack Raven and her allies one of the guards shoves his sword into the mans belly.. and a fight insues..
Alistair and his mages make short work of the guards and as Raven approaches the wounded man she recognizes him as Elric Maraigne, a member of King Cailan's honor guard.


He explains that the King gave him a key to the Cailan’s Royal Chest and that Cailan wanted the Grey Wardens to have the key in the event of his death.
But, he had no chance, he saw how the battle went so he left the key hidden by a statue in Ostagar, and as he explained this, he took his last breath.
What was so important in that chest? And why, with all of King Cailan’s bravado, did he suspect the battle would not end well?


Alistair and Wynne were very much in favor to go to Ostagar “to settle some old scores”


They reached Ostagar with very little trouble along the way save a few bandits and mercenaries..
“We need to find Cailan’s chest….”


Alistair no sooner got the words out when they were attacked..



They fought off the ensuing darkspawn and then she saw him…


The brave, somewhat boyish, King….”how did this happen?”



Back to the present as more darkspawn attack…

continued,,,

When they finally got the chance for a breather they vowed to return and lay Cailan to proper rest


In their battles there was one particular nasty bugger..

A darkspawn who raised the dead!


They eventually found Cailan’s chest and besides his sword they found 3 documents..
The first one they read was an official letter from Empress Celene I of Orlais to King Cailan of Ferelden.
In it she stated “My Chevaliers stand ready and will accompany the Grey Wardens of Orlais to Ferelden. At your word the might of Orlais will march to reinforce the Ferelden forces.
And it was signed “Sincerely, Empress Celene I”
“So my brother was forming an alliance with Orlais to fight the Blight.”

The second document was a letter from Arl Eamon. In it he implores Cailan not to fight alongside the Grey Warden’s. Cailan is without an heir and his death would bring a possible civil war.
He goes on to suggest that Anora is barren and that Cailan should seek elsewhere for an heir.
“He’s suggesting that Cailan divorce Anora on grounds that she cannot bear him an heir”

“I wonder if Loghain knew of this or even suspected..”
The third letter enforced Alistair’s thought that Cailan was forming an alliance with Orlais, but – a much different alliance than he thought at first.
“Cailan,
The visit to Ferelden will be postponed indefinitely, due to the darkspawn problem. You understand, of course? The darkspawn have odd timing, don't they? Let us deal with them first. Once that is done we can further discuss a permanent alliance between Orlais and Ferelden.”
“So Empress Celene was coming to Ferelden to visit Cailan"


They didn’t have time to ponder on their discovery as more darkspawn attacked again. All with the aid of the elusive necromancer,
As they made their way through the Tower of Ishal they discovered caverns..
“This is how they got in during the battle.. how did they know?”


They fought their way through the caverns and came out on the battle field..

This is where it happened..


“Look… there!!” Alistair was shouting

“I … I recognize those weapons..

“They belong to Duncan..”



Enter the necromancer who raises the Orge


Alistair fights the Orge while Raven, Wynne and Morrigan battle the darkspawn. As Alistair kills the Orge, the Mages finish off the troublesome necromancer..

The battle for Ostagar is finally won and they return to Cailan’s body.

They cut him down and give him a funeral pyre

Later that night in camp..

“I think Cailan had planned to divorce Anora in favor of the Empress, and that Teyrn Loghain had discovered this scheme. That’s why he betrayed my brother.”
“And he saved our lives by sending us to the Tower… do you think he suspected Loghain of treachery?”

“I think that he knew you as his brother and was protecting Ferelden by protecting you”


They talked more of what happened and Raven told Alistair that he revenged his brother’s death and Duncan’s when he killed the Orge.

“You are the one bright spot in all this darkness..”
