i have just come across the weirdest ending yet in this game, i am a mage, i sided with the mages as always, and fenris is helping me defend the mages.

before the finally battle i asked fenris to join me, and he did. i'm really confused, do i have enough trust? i did i say something he liked? i never thought much of him.

no mods or cheats were used, i can't hardly even use the console because i can't see what i'm typing.

don't know what else to put as a title. i figured i'd best put this in the spoiler section to be safe.

personally i was not expecting to see him again, when i heard his name i was thinking that can't be dao cullen right.

i'm glad to see he has a spine now, he is a great example of how a bad experiance can change a personality completely. and it's nice that the change wasn't for the worst.

but i expected him to go medevial on me in the end, and then make anders tranquil on the spot.

last he was in the game he had a servere hatred for mages, in general. but when you side with the mages he still takes your side dispite what he went through because of mages.

I know, it was a bit strange that one of the least moderates in DAO suddenly became a voice of reason, hmm?  The thing I liked about that in particular is that Kirkwall was full to the brim of extremists by the end of the game, through choice or by feeling their hand was forced...and yet here is a guy, who, had every reason to hate or distrust mages but in the end stayed moderate.  He may have sincerely believed in the templar cause, and I do think he did entirely, but he also was very much against the corruption within that was prompting what he viewed to be an extremist act, even if the act was on his own side.

I was impressed by that a bit =)   I viewed it not so much as taking my side, but deciding to act for what he considered JUSTICE and not just fear or revenge.

When Meredith starts going all psycho on everyone you can see Cullen snap back into that moment in the Circle tower, I think thats why he lets Hawke escape as he not only has seen what kind of Monsters Mages can become back what the Templars can too.

Needless-to-say. It's a real eye opener for him.

yeah you could see a bit of that "no not again" look in his eyes when Meridith started going nuts. maybe it was for the best that he went through what he went through, it made him stronger as a character in general.
