Rogues using Shields as weapons intended?

Was this ever intended? It feels weird...

Just wanted to know if this was ever intended or was an oversight in design or was a glitch. Dagger/Shield does way more damage than anything in the game as the armor of the shield is used as damage which means 200 armor shield would be doing 200 damage (or dps). Which seems awfully wrong and pretty much makes the game a breeze.

Any bioware representative want to chime in on this?

And you're equipping shields on your rogue... how?

All shields were intended to have the 'weapon and shield' prereq. Unfortunately a couple shields missed this - it was not intended and will be rectified in an upcoming patch.

Some shields don't have restrictions. Only STR and CON

I didn't think there was a need for any official reaction (common sense is really your friend here -- besides, shield animation in DW stance is inverted), but in case you absolutely must have it -- yes, Peter Thomas acknowledged it was just a couple of overlooked cross-class items, not a deliberate game design decision, by any means. Defender of the Wall and Volcanic are getting patched in 1.03, no worries.

As to it being "awfully wrong"... Well, 2 months ago, in my very first post on this mechanic, I said it is cheesy beyond any doubt. The game becomes considerably less challenging, especially in a party format. It was fun experimenting with, though.

PS: Ninja'd by the omnipresent Luke :)
