Mass Effect 1 Decryption

Where is the mod or patch or button or setting or whatever to SKIP this part of the game?
If you spend an insane number of points to level up someone to extremely high decryption, you shouldn't
have to physically brute-force and in-real-life have to hack hack hack the thing for 45 minutes. It's just
ruining this game. What I want is ONE click decryption.

Though if you're on Xbox... hum. Can't think of anything.

Can't you use omni-gel to hack stuff in ME1? Use console to give yourself a bunch of omni-gel and one click decryption viola!

Sorry, but I cannot understand that sentence: "Use console to give yourself...." ??
What does that mean? Did you intend to write "Use THE console..." or "Use A console..."?
And you're assuming I have any idea what a "console" is, or where it would be located. I don't.

Convert the crappy weapons and mods into omni-gel and use that. No mini-game required.
This is a locked artifact. No option to use Omni Gel exists.
As for the weapons, it's very hard to get money in this game, and weapons/armor are
VERY expensive. I generally sell them to crawl up the savings ladder to just barely buy stuff.

Developer console.

But artifacts... damn you're having trouble with those? It goes in to easy mode for those.
Just spin the arrow around to a clear part and shoot it straight through in one shot. Done.
I once played ME1 6 times in a row without this bothering me.
You should be picking up omni-gel along the way. Watch how much you have and use any surplus to get past certain things quicker.
If you're re-using a character you'll find your money maxes out so you can just convert everything you need to omni-gel.
If you don't know what the console is, look it up on the internet. A lot of PC games have them so I suppose it's generally assumed someone will know what these are?
It's a place to type in command codes - literally a cheat box.
If the spinny arrow bothers you that much then you may as well console your way to 999 omni-gel to prevent it from marring your game experience further.

Are you talking bout decryption in general, or the specific puzzle within the Noveria part?
Decryption in general. Makes no sense to force a player in realtime to have to play
"hungry hungry hippos" on the spinner once someone in the squad is maxed out on Decryption skill.

In the Shadow Broker DLC there's even a line where Shepard comments on how you can't do that any more - it's a new security upgrade, lol.

"Look it up on the internet"? I invite you to go, right now, to Google, and type in just the word "console".
Remember: that was the only word I would have had to go by, nothing else was said. This would NOT have produced useful results.

Yah, ME2 mini-games take 10 times as long, and there's no more omni-gel fix.

Glad to know this. Until or unless mod comes out to over-ride, this is a game to eschew.

I played ME1 on xbox and ME2 on xbox before touching ME1 on PC. The minigame on the PC is a lot more frustrating than its counterpart on the xbox. The minigames in ME2 are much easier than the ME1 minigames. One is essentially memory while the other focuses on seeing color and shape patterns. They might confuse you at first, but they're not difficult enough to ruin the entire experience for you. And if you're on a PC, you have easy access to bypassing the most annoying minigame of all: planet scanning. Just mod a ton of resources into your game so the only time you need to scan planets at all is when you're looking for an anomoly.

Here's a tip; reduce to Omni Gel early during the game. While weapons, armor and mods that you sell will sell for much much much more money towards the end of the game, the omni-gel returns will still be the same.
I usually stock up to roughly 500 omni gel at the start of the game before I start selling.

Money isn't really that important. I should mention, however, that using omni-gel on everything by default is a waste. The QTEs aren't even that hard.

Which are ludicrously easy, not nearly as common (there will be a few per mission at most, whereas in ME1 you tended to decrypt/bypass things on a very frequent basis at times), and at least give you some sense of actually hacking/bypassing things with a little visual toy.
Also, the bypass minigame can usually be completed very quickly, it's all about how fast YOU complete it. The hack is a bit more annoying. It can sometimes take a matter of seconds, provided all the code segments you need are close to where you begin, but often you'll have to let the screen scroll down for a bit before you get what you need.

Even at early levels the hacking can be challenging. And in later levels the bypassing and lock picking are BRUTAL.
The hacking/bypassing in ME1 and ME2 are child's play in comparison.

Omni gell is your friend. And it is quicker than its ME2 counterpart (at least for me). Just convert useless **** to omni gell after you have all the SPECTRE weapons and Colossus armor. You don't need any more money.bearcat22 wrote...
