Casey Hudson ... We haven't YET come up with a way to do that, so we don't have anything to announce at this time. But obviously, multiplayer is something we want to do more of in the future as a company".
At no point did he say "there will be NO mp in Mass Effect 3". He says they have not come up with a way to do it yet and they are not ready to announce anything at this time. Now I would have imagined if they had ruled out mp in ME 3 they would've been ready to announce that there will be NO mp in ME 3.

I really wish people would stop putting words in Bioware's mouth, they HAVE NOT confirmed there will be no multiplayer. They have been incredibly vague on whether there will or will not be multiplayer. So just for the record again here is what Casey Hudson (you know the guy in charge of ME 3) actually said with regard to multiplayer :-Casey Hudson ... We haven't YET come up with a way to do that, so we don't have anything to announce at this time. But obviously, multiplayer is something we want to do more of in the future as a company".

Keep in mind that nothing "quoted" is
100% guaranteed. We are still developing the game and features change,
we adapt, refine and improve. Just because you think it is there now
based off an old interview (or even a new one) that doesn't mean it will
or will not be in the game.
I only point this out so people
don't say "But I saw in a thread that "X" feature was confirmed".
NOTHING is confirmed until we ship."
The game is still being developed and anything can still happen, including implementing a multiplayer feature. So please people, stop treating other people as trolls just because they post rumors. Since when was posting a rumor trolling? It's a word that people throw out left and right everytime someone says something that they don't agree with.
There is absolutely nothing remotely trolling about the TC's post.

While Sheper ’s chief aim is saving Earth, there still may be a multiplayer mode in Mass Effect 3: according to a BioWare representative who told Escapist, the moderater may have stepped over the border. Pacifen should have given a statement in regards to multiplayer that reads: “BioWare does not comment on rumor”. The BioWare representative then gave a glimpse of hope concerning a possible multiplayer component for Mass Effect 3 by saying the post shouldn’t be taken as authoritative fact. Now that Mass Effect 3 has been officially announced,
I return to the age-old response to this topic: Mass Effect 3 is a
single-player game. Thank you.

I don't see how multiplayer would even work that well considering (as long as the effect is used in ME3 as well) certain classes are rather reliant on Time Dilation effects, such as AR, Infiltrator sniping, and Biotic Charge. I suppose you could gimp the abilities for MP, but those are kind of staples for each class.
They can remove classes and you play multplayer as enemy NPC types. So blue suns merc etc. so most powers would be gone, presumedly the people with actual powers like engineer's or vanguards would have weaker guns or something. But yeah if you play as the current player classes it would be tough to integrate.
I'm not really expecting multiplayer in ME3, but they have not been clear on this issue.

Any sort of DM or CTF thing would probably end up being lame, imo.

While I pretty much never play multi-player games, I also don't really understand the hostility towards adding the feature.

Casey Hudson said there will be no multiplayer in ME3 on GI.
And you didn't give us a source about this.
That was BEFORE the delay.
I will say it again:
No game company worth half a shaker of seasalt is going to be dumb enough to tack on a multiplayer mode via a delay of only a few months. It takes more time than that to implement something so involved.

It's always good to be on the safe side, but that's Imageshack you're talking about. In any case I can't confirm.

Because people feel it would take time and resources away from the single player aspect, which is a justifiable concern.

A multiplayer mode would need to be unique though: no generic team deathmatch-type thing.

You seem to be forgetting that EA is in control of Bioware. They don't care about how well the multiplayer plays, or how long they have to implement it, they just care about the profits. Their philosophy is that if multiplayer is involved, a bunch of CoD fanboys are going to be like "OMG OMG OMG Mass Effect has multiplayer I has to haz it."
And as Charming Charlie said above, Casey Hudson never denied multiplayer. He said they haven't figured out a way to implement it, and that they weren't announcing anything at this time. Where do you see confirmation in that? It's most likely that the delay is due to multiplayer, which really angers a lot of us but we have to face reality - ME is a shooter, not an rpg.

Perhaps true, but Bioware hired a multiplayer developer to work on Mass Effect IP many months ago now. It's not like the person they hired is just starting work on it this week, and the Unreal engine by default already supports many mulitplayer modes and network technologies right out of the box--it has done so since the days of Unreal 1, over a decade ago.Nathan Redgrave wrote...
