I must say lately mage hype is getting on my nerves ...mage this mage that brittle this brittle that - BURN YOU WITCHES!

Ok originally i intended to just play without Anders but now i decided to skip Merrill to. Dont be too hard for me i did use Bethany in act I , i like her , made her warden and i dont think her heal is something pots wouldnt be able to replace - i maybe used pot twice through the act and due to my f-up. The problem however would be that you cant have sebastian in act 2 and 2 warriors + isabela = full time lay out.

few rules apply - no encounter breaking, heavy kitting , specing for one fight. So far lv 16 act 2 didnt use respec yet.
And something to hit your eyes with:
Nexus golem - head on - due to lack of real CCC / buffs it was one hardest thing to do so far. Part 2 is easy way to clear it by using door.
Nexus golem - She had to lay out

And here is example how respecing and abusing things make things easy.
Nexus golem - Haxx are bad

Bartrand - tank &spank
Dissent - Anders GJ! (alternative way of dealing with assasins XD)

Actually, it makes perfect sense if you go S&S rather than 2H. It's a bit like going 2H + 3 mages and saying it's a no-rogue challenge ;)

Hmm.. That makes me wonder.
A full rogue party would count correct? I might grab an old save from my rogue playthrough and see how fast I can kill things with four dps rogues haha.
There wouldn't be any CCCs but I've recently discovered that in general rogues don't even need CCCs to pump out massive damage. Especially if they all focused fire....

But yeah, I don't really see the point in such a setup unless you were doing it for a challenge. The best party setups almost have to involve a mix of classes as each class is designed to complement the others.

And your rule about 'specing for one fight' is referring to purposely designing your party for one fight instead of speccing them for general use right? Because I am almost definitely going to respec my party. haha

I probably won't actually attempt to complete this challenge anyway (I prefer the speed variety) but four rogues may be interesting... :)

Darqion - thx copy paste fail lol.

@IN1 - Dont think 2h + 3rogues would work. Alternativly 2warriors and 2 rogues is ok but i dont feel like having to worry about another FF killer already killed isa countles times coz she either decided to run in fron of me or when i was controling her my war decided to use scatter.
The other approach would be 3 rogues with hawke rogue and aveline tank - but i feel kinda sad for not being able to use assasinate CCC.
You are right i want to use the S&S CCC but still its nowhere near damage that rogue do - a CCC scatter on rage demon with cleave during nexus do 2.2k~ dam an archers lance CCC doe around 5k in this case.

@mr_afk - i do it mostly for roleplay purposes. You see i do have a finishing game where i sided with meredith but overally i did not play mage hater. I do so now and i dont feel right to use their power when i want them all contained / dead.. 4 rogues will work but in some fights damage is unavoidable and you wont be able to do it . I'm still not sure if i can finish the game like this.
Respecing -  well i use one respec per game per character.- yea i mean no respecing for particular fights -eg  if you dont find aegis usefull dont take it but dont respec then coz on given fight you cant do without it.

But it's true.  Once a mage player, always a mage player, that's what I say. :wizard:

I was working on an (almost) All-Archer Party (Hawke, Seb, Varric) but in the end I went with Anders because three DPS + Haste = saucy.  The only real problems mid-Act 2 were tight set piece fights, but nothing a little kiting, Dog, and a well-placed Glyph of Paralysis didn't really solve.  Speaking of that, I'm probably going to have to pull that guy out again real soon.

That's better than the forums being filled with "mages suck QQ" like a month ago.
