Just posting this in case any one else (like me until 5 minutes ago) didn't realize that PowerBar has an excellent built-in tree randomizer which can do all trees in the area or just selected ones. If you are obsessive about every tree in your forest being different (like me) then this is going to save you lots of time.

Seed only. More than 5 seeds can get a bit frustrating(especially for those of us with older graphic cards).

That is really good to know.... sort of.... I guess its better to find out now then after everything is done. So are we talking 5 seeds total, or 5 seeds per tree type? I'm assuming it's 5 seeds total.
Its not a big deal since 3-5 seeds is all that is really needed once you throw in size varitation. I just wish I had known that about 2 weeks ago because I know I have tons and tons of seeds out there.
But thanks for the info, that is very, very helpful.

5 seeds isn't set in stone. I used up to 20 for PoE. The official Obsidian rec is 5, but that was based on the computers at release time.

I think I'm going to try to cut down the number of seeds. I think I have a lot. My previous approach to trees was randomly typing in numbers every time I added a new one, so I probably have dozens of seeds.
I really appreciate the info. You and Chaos saved me from a big headache.
I can probably just use the Power Bar randomizer to put in 4 basic seeds. That should be enough, since the sizes are randomized already.

...okay, I did it. I used the PowerBar randomizer and now I just have 4 seeds. It looks fine.

...is that 5 seeds per area or for the whole module?

That would be 5 seeds per area. And Kamal is right. If you have more than 5 a Grue doesn't eat you, but it *does* help performance. For the most part, too, anymore than 5 is going to end up unnoticed while still impacting performance. A bad combination, for certain.

Area. The number of seeds affects how hard it is for the vid card to display the area, more seeds = more video ram needed.M. Rieder wrote...

It is noticeable when you have a variety of tree types. For instance if you have 4 or 5 types, then they all look the same. If it's an area where they are close together it's noticable.Chaos Wielder wrote...

On the other hand, two or three seeds, with five or six different size ranges, played with creatively, looks good, and can be done very rapidly with creative cutting and pasting of Tree Mobs.
