My first .mod, back in 2007, was A1- Slave Pits of the Undercity. I quickly followed it up with A2- Secret of the Slavers Stockade. I had never attempted any thing like .mod building before, and it certainly showed in the backwards way I attempted to do things. I then got involved with building for the PW, Skullport, and never returned to finish the Slavers series. I've always wanted to update my first .mods, but I thought it would be easier to just start from scratch, than to try to unknot the tangle of scripts and variables I had left behind.

So that is what I’ve decided to do. I’ve started work on a full blown campaign, Scourge of the Slavelords. It will contain adventure modules A1-A4, as one campaign. It will be for single, or multi-player. DMFI friendly, and Kaedrin’s compatible. Characters will start out at level 5, and finish at 12-13.

I’m only about half way through A1, as of this post, so it’s going to be a while before it is finished.

That sounds like a lot of work and a lot of fun to play.

Good luck with that, and remember to post lots of screenies so we can drool in anticipation.

Nice idea! I played your mods so far & I was very impressed - made a good few notes for things I want to use in my remake of Oasis' - If you can do the entire slavelords campaign, that would be great!

Can't beat reliving those old P&P adventures :-)

I played those A1 and A2 you made a while back - before I started building.

Fun.

Any one interested in testing A1- Slave Pits of the Undercity? Download here;

I'm about half way through with A2, and have a foot hold on both A3 and A4.

I always get the message that a Hak-File is missing :(

Strange. I just double checked the module hak lists, and everything matches. Lets see if any one else has a problem. Maybe re-download?
At some point I am going to merge a few of the haks and maybe still add some. I'm still building A3 and A4, so the hak list is not complete. If the problem persists, I will do it sooner rather than later.

I re-downloaded and checked the hak list, all haks were there; still the error-message pops up.

My NWN2-Installation is heavily modded and tweaked, I tried to start with no UI-Mods and clear override, but that also didn't work.

Since I have no Idea what else I have changed over the years I guess it's something with my mutated NWN2-Installation :o)

In the past, if I have had a .hak that is empty, that will cause the message. Do you perhaps have a patch hack file that is empty?

Well,
I'm nearly finished with A3- Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords. I just finished a campaign play through and made it to the end of A3 with no game breakers. After I address the two pages of changes I came up with, and a few from SirChet, I'll post it on my projects page if any one wants to try it.

A4- In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords, should go pretty fast as most of the areas are all ready finished. I'm not going to jump right in though, I need to take a break and play Fanglewood, so I can rip off all his good ideas, er, find new insperation.

LOL, I be flattered if you stole one of my idea's.

Like those screen shots, looks like things are coming along well.

I've still been working on this, but the going is slow.
I wasn't happy with the way the campaign started, and decided to add a village around the starting inn. I then decided it might as well start in the village of Hommlet. I started building the village, but as all you old timers know, you can't have the village of Hommlet without the Temple of Elemental Evil. Before I knew it, I was building a whole new .mod.
The Temple of Elemental Evil starts at level 1-2, and the Slave Lords campaign starts at level 6, so I might as well make it so you can play right through.

Just to be sure you're fully apprised, do you know that the Temple of Elemental Evil currently exists in some form on the Vault for NWN2?  It does state that it's not entirely faithful to the original P&P module, but it also includes Hommlet.  This may not be important for your plans, of course.

There was also an attempt at making Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil by someone else, but it was not completed.

Thanks for the tip, but I checked out the vault .mods before I started.
They were not what I wanted, so I decided to just build it myself. It couldn't take more than a year or so :)

Well, after 3 1/2 months of massive computer problems, I was able to open the toolset today. I even got a game to load without crashing. Yeah!
I'm still not 100%, but soon I expect I'll be able to start picking up the pieces from where I left off. What a mess!
I must admit though, when my computer problems started, and I crawled out of the labyrinth of the toolset, I remembered I once had other hobbies. I've been out in the fresh air, getting exercise, and building things in my shop, instead of pouring over lines of code for hours on end. It's kinda nice...
I guess I've just got to find a balance.

Once you get Village of Hommlet complete, you could always release that first as a taster of what's to come - get us old timer P&P'ers all excited, then take a bit of a break from the toolset like I did after Sahuagin Heel - although for me it lasted all of a week before I started wondering how I could make a desert oasis :-)
