Your Shepard has issues.

No, BW screwed up. They had femshep act like a tart ... a creepy tart .... when she talks to Jacob at his work station. It would be ok if your femshep is flirting or is sexually attracted to Jacob, but absolutely gross otherwise. IMO - so I let him die. But I did let him go on his LM so he was at peace when he died. Keep in mind, he volunteered to play in the vents.

So because you hate the way Jennifer Hale voice acted in those scenes, Jacob has to die. That makes zero sense.

If you don't see the creepy way she acts both visually & vocally I can see why you don't understand. It creeps me out so he died in my femshep playthrough. But he also volunteered so he was happy.

I know, right? To me Jacob has some strikes against him: working for Cerberus, and giving bad advice in tactical situations. That said, I don't think any of my Shepards had massive problems with Jacob. My psycho b¡tch Shepard got him killed, along with almost everyone else (Morinth and Kasumi survived), but I think Jacob survives in all my other playthroughs if I'm not mistaken. Jacob's not a bad guy, but then it's hard for me to be angry with a guy just for having great abs, a guarded demeanor, and no serious psychological issues that would make him 'interesting'. If he wasn't a Cerberus lackey, I'd probably like Jacob quite a bit more, but I find him hard to dislike even with the Cerberus taint. Heck, I like Miranda too, and she's more aggressively pro-Cerberus than Jacob.

No .. as I said earlier, it is Bioware's fault, and probably an intential joke on femsheps.

Since the game is about Shepard and not Jacob the choice was obvious who would not see the light of day ME3 ... I had a sneaking suspicion that Bioware in a demented twist of humor would make the interaction even worse, so bye Jacob. You want to run in the vents, ok.
I don't like spending $$$ just to be creeped out if I can help it.
Jacob, however, did survive in my maleshep playthru and they drink together at Omega like best buds.

I did a play-through with a renegade "thug" Shepard that didn't trust Cerberus. I had Jacob, Miranda and the Cerberus crew all die. Didn't give them the base either.

Official story was that Jacob died trying to hold off hostiles and got swarmed by seekers. Reality: Shepard kicked him in the back while he wasn't looking. Only she and Morinth know the truth.

EDIT: Haha, DERP. I figured it out right as I clicked "submit". I'm pretty sure Siansonea II meant Tali. Poor girl got carried away by the swarm in my PT. I killed off half the team to see what happens in ME3.

Best way to kill Jacob is to let his father live, seduce Miranda then let him be carried away by the swarm

I let him live in my first and proper playthrough but I always have an overwhelming urge to get rid of him in my others. Same with Miranda. Not completely sure why, I think it's just because I'm so uninterested in Jacob and Miranda that I actually prefer to lose them. Like an ugly lamp, you know. They're easily tolerable, but I prefer the Normandy without them cluttering up the armory and valuable office space.

If he's not loyal, either use him as the escort or take him into the final boss battle.

Otherwise, choose a bad biotic specialist like Thane or something and a collector swarm will hopefully carry him off.
