We all play a game that involves killing hundreds of simulated beings. Just because I hunt down Jacob's dad and then later send Jacob to the vents so I completely destroy that family so they cannot breed anymore Taylors' into the ME universe isn't any worse than killing 75 guards to ask a guy to join my crew.

My paragon FemShep on one of my current playthroughs fully intends to see him die. The flirtation scene was a bit out of character --- she just isn't into guys --- but that isn't the issue. Cerberus is loathsome, and she just doesn't want any more Cerberus operatives second guessing her or offering unsolicited advice. The rest of the crew will likely fall in line once those two are out of the picture.

Sending him through the vents is the best way to kill him, IMO. He doesn't even need to be unloyal to die there.

You missed something. Besides, go for it anyway, these forums shouldn't be called racist for no good reason and since people won't stop calling it as such, we could just as well give them a reason and laugh maniacally in the process.

Now excuse me, I have to gloat at some unsuspecting newcomers ...

I'll give you a reason to call these forums racist. Youtube is a notorious den of iniquity where skinheads troll every video about everyting. Unfortunately, if you youtube Jacob scenes, some of the commentators echo some of the thoughts I've read on here. Trust me, you don't want to be echoed by youtube commentators.

I don't like him because he's a turncoat who joined Cerberus with full knowledge of what he was doing.  I'm an Alliance soldier and I frown on that sort of thing.  He also keeps asking "do you trust me, do you trust me, do you trust me" when I've got no business trusting him.

In short, I'm pretty sure he's gonna stick a knife in my back eventually.

Plus, anybody walks into my quarters and calls me "the prize" right before a mission should *not* expect to survive it.

Well, I liked Kaidan and Carth.  I think the Carth-haters were just afraid Bastila would kiss him first.  And in ME as a male character, Kaidan has your back.  It's probably just easier to kill him if you don't like him.

I dislike the character; that's you saying i'm racist to japanese because I deleted the Kasumi DLC because I found the character completely irrelevant. You see him as black and that must be the reason people dislike him. I see a boring character than forces his way into every dialog.

If it wasn't for the X button I would most likely rip off my ears so i wouldn't have to listen to him talk.

Well, I think hate is rather too strong a word...I dislike/find irritating Jacob, Grunt and Mordin....Jacob is such a downer, he is generally so negative about everything and has no sense of humor...Grunt just wants to kill everything and revels in blood lust....Mordin is a babbler with an ego the size of Everest...I don't feel its necessarity about finding someone to b*tch about, just some characters grate on the nerves of various people and others on other peoples nerves.

Yeah, Almost every play through that I had after the first one in which I picked her up, I completely avoided her. Since you cannot do loyalty missions without the person in question present, I didn't do that mission either. After awhile I got tired of hearing her complain about me not talking to her on the way into the Citadel; so, I deleted her.

To me she was a typical DLC addon for the sake of having a DLC addon.

Jacob became the Kaidan/Carth of ME2.  Being black(don't look for closet racists to be honest about that), having some of the dumbest dialog (the prize), uncomfortable character interactions (slow down Fem-Shep!), and the scariest teeth (Cerberus employees need a better dental plan) probably didn't help either. 

The thing is that I liked Jacob.  I liked how he sized everyone up when they came on board.  I even liked how he messed with Tali a bit when she first came on the Normandy.  Hell if someone came on board a ship I was serving on and was about to be given clearance to vital systems and said "let me loan you a grenade ", I probably would have mentioned more than the ship's AI.  I probably would have objected to her having access to any part of the ship. In my opinion Jacob was being too nice about it.  

And then it's the other folks who came on board.

- "Hey Jacob, this is Thane. He's a notorious assassin and one of the most brutal killers in the galaxy.  Please give him access to Normandy's Life Support systems.  He's going to be staying in there for the duration of the mission"

-Jacob, I'd like to introduce you to Garrus.  He's an old squad mate of mine who hasn't quite figured out if he wants to be an assassin, a vigilante or a security officer.  He's being playing Batman on Omega for the last two years, make sure he feels right at home at the ship's main guns"

-"Glad you're here Jacob.  This is Subject Zero, but you can just call her Jack.  She's COMPLETELY insane and might eventually kill the entire crew, especially Miranda.  See to it that people stay out of her way while she's on board. She's not what we'd call a people person and we don't want any accidents now do we?"

-"Jacob, you gotta see this! We've got a baby Krogan on board!  He was created in a lab and tank born by a vicious krogan battlemaster turned mad scientist.  Kelly told me he's been trying to put his head through a window, but we're not going to let that bother us are we?


I also liked Jacob because he had the most respect for Shepard, loyalty or not.  Jacob is honest from the very beginning, and wants to earn Shepard's trust from the outset.  And given the fact that  Jacob is also like the most sane squad mate Shepard has,  I just can't figure out why anyone would want to see him dead.

I would never have suspected any race stuff had it not been for the fact that before I came on here I was involved in many KOTOR discussions and witnessed a lot of Jolee Bindo hate. Then I came on here and saw much Jacob hate and then the unthinkable---Anderson hate. To me, 3 is a pattern.

I think someone before you already did a great job in killing of some specific individuals as 150 years into the future and most people are white. Logically most people should be asian, latino or black, but no there isn't any racism in ME.
