I don't like him because he's a turncoat who joined Cerberus with full knowledge of what he was doing. I'm an Alliance soldier and I frown on that sort of thing.
He asks that once after the first mission. He also keeps asking "do you trust me, do you trust me, do you trust me" when I've got no business trusting him.
Then don't romance him?Plus, anybody walks into my quarters and calls me "the prize" right before a mission should *not* expect to survive it.
You might as well say the same about the cheeziness of any of the love interests.

I think someone before you already did a great job in killing of some specific individuals as 150 years into the future and most people are white. Logically most people should be asian, latino or black, but no there isn't any racism in ME.
Why would that be the logical way to go? Purely because of numbers? Actually (kind of off topic), has there been any history written for what happened on earth itself between now and first contact?
On topic: I say, let Jacob die protecting his own crewmates, if he's so clearly 'not a mercenary'.

It is about how we kill him, ... in a physical manner.

When did I say any of this? How does me disliking a character and killing his family as a result of utter annoyance of said character somehow turn into adiscussion about what the race make up of future non-existent people?

I know this is tongue in cheek, but it's probably true for a fair number of male players that take on the role of female Shepard. Bear with me. Assume that Female Shepard serves as an extension of your average male player's heterosexuality, allowing him to live out the patriarchal fantasy of lesbian sex (hello, Liara) while completely removing all male eroticism from the equation by playing as a female. When female Shepard, serving as a proxy for the player's masculinity, then expresses lustful desire for a man that is likely much more masculine than the player himself, it isn't hard to see why Jacob is so widely resented.

Good, need to kill him and Samara off.
She says she'll kill you when her oath to you is done, if you do questionable things.
While she herself says she'll kill innocent people simply for getting in the way of the code.
Samara is a hypocritical ****.
So, high five!

So it's only racist so long as more white people are depicted, but not racist if more black people are depicted?
Sigh.

Only white people can be racist. This is a known fact.
Honestly though, the people who even bring up the fact that he is indeed black are the ones who are racist. It's the same thing with disliking Ash. I cannot dislike her for any other reason other than because she is religious and that is what the disscussion will always break down into every time it is talked about.
People cannot get over the fact someone may dislike a character they don't.

Or they think it's weird that any Shepard, regardless of gender, would utterly perv out at the first opportunity on a person they only just encountered.lazuli wrote...

I did not knowingly join Cerberus. I woke up in a station where all the mechs were trying to kill me and they were the only ride, then the Alliance didn't seem to want me back. So, here I am. Besides, who was head of security on the station where all the mechs were trying to kill me, presumably had access to the mechs, and didn't try to shut them down when we got to Server Room B? Yup, Jacob. Miranda's ex-paramour. Not saying he did it, just saying he is suspicious and that's never pursued. Plus, the Illusive Man says I'll be safe with Jacob "for now." Lots of suspicious things about Jacob.
Right or wrong, I don't trust him. Though honestly I usually try to make sure he lives for just that reason. If he does turn on me, I want to see it, not read about it in someone else's game.

*sigh.* Like the conspiracy where in the game you don't actually have any choice? If you can find one, let me know. Look, trust Jacob all you want. Give him a man-hug. That's fine by me. I don't trust him, though. That's where I'm at. I've been around way too long to trust people who are always asking if I trust them.

Other than not doing their loyalty missions? Take one of them with you when using Miranda or Jacob to maintain the biotic barrier against the swarm. That should work, right? Or you could send Garrus into the vents they were talking about sending Jacob into. He's not going to do any better than Jacob. I'm not sure what happens if you put Tali in charge of the fire team. Probably nothing good, so there's a way to do it.
I like both those characters well enough, but still, they might do something really annoying in the next game so it pays to be prepared, right?

You could always screw over the Flotilla and dump Garrus during his pre-SM romance scene before sending them to oblivion. A broken heart and a broken spirit, death under fault of their once-saviour.

My usual goal is to get everyone out alive, regardless of how I feel about them. First of all, they're my responsibility whether I like them (or trust them) or not. If they're going to betray me then that will probably make for an awesome bit of gaming, and if they aren't they might wind up helping me. Aw, heck, maybe I just don't trust Jacob because that kind of betrayal would be so cool story-wise and I just can't admit it. Hard to say.

Along the extinguish the Taylors line, should Sheppard allow Morinth to kill Samara and then let Morinth die on the Suicide Mission?

I have several playthroughs and only my "pure" (aka full renegade or paragon) Shepard go without casualties. Every other playthrough has rpg'ish deaths of squadmates and romances to achieve a most wide spectrum of possibilities ME3 can play with.
