This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So there's no reason to dislike Jacob. I would bet my house that TIM who openly betrayed you, and Saren, who is a mass murderer, are both ten times more liked than Jacob.

Don't know whether that applies that fittingly. I can imagine that if Saren would have been that cheesy at times, I'd ... woah I don't even want to imagine that Posted Image

For Tali, you can always just give the evidence to the Quarians. Not only do you get Tali unloyal whilst still having completed her loyalty mission, but the setup should also give exciting new variations for ME3 to play out.

I have several playthroughs and only my "pure" (aka full renegade or paragon) Shepard go without casualties. Every other playthrough has rpg'ish deaths of squadmates and romances to achieve a most wide spectrum of possibilities ME3 can play with.

This.  I already have a Renegade and Paragon save that keeps everyone alive.  My current playthrough is an RP Canon playthrough.  Mostly Paragon --- I have enough to get Miranda's loyalty back if I wanted it, and I don't --- but I intend to get those two high ranking Cerberus operatives off of my ship, even if I have to be as deceitful as the Illusive Man to do it.

So it's only racist so long as more white people are depicted, but not racist if more black people are depicted?

Sigh.

Only white people can be racist. This is a known fact.

Honestly though, the people who even bring up the fact that he is indeed black are the ones who are racist. It's the same thing with disliking Ash. I cannot dislike her for any other reason other than because she is religious and that is what the disscussion will always break down into every time it is talked about.

People cannot get over the fact someone may dislike a character they don't.

On the racial front, I'd like to mention that for years I was a somewhat frequent poster on star wars forums. Mace Windu's awesomeness finally overcame a lot of resistance over the years. But it took long time...too long in my opinion. From my experience on those forums, I would say Mace hate ended, for the most part, about 3 years after Revenge of the Sith. He's still probably the least frequent avatar you'll see amongst major characters...well...Lando Calrissian is/was almost non-existent as an avatar, but I guess he's not as major a character...

You know I'd almost forgotten about all of the Mace haters, It seemed like every imaginable conspiracy against the Jedi had him at the heart of it all.    I remember being very confused reading some of the irrationality of it.  If you didn't know better you would have thought Master Windu was the Dark Lord instead of Palpatine by the time you got through talking with some of those people. lol!   Some even had Windu as the traitor and Dooku as the good guy.

And I have to say, some of what has been said about Anderson in THESE forums sounds eerily familiar.  The conspiracies about Anderson are just as nutty,  and in many of these scenarios TIM is the good guy while Anderson is portrayed as the traitor.   And you're also right about your earlier post, they absolutely HATED Jolee Bindo at the old Bioware forums too,  wouldn't give the old Jedi a break.

We all know that bad guys always are black. Thats a fact.

Seriously, I remember those Windu conspiracies, and I never could manage how they could get all of those conspiracy theories from a pretty much by-the-book Jedi. C'est la vie

Old age... After he helped you defeat the reapers with all the others in ME3...

Seriously though, I don't get why so many people have a problem with Jacob: he's a solid, reliable guy who gave us the second best meme I've heard in a long time (sorry Jac, "Ah, yes..." trumps you)...
But if you really want to kill him, I agree with all those who proposed the vents... He says himself it's a suicide and volunteers with that in mind... At least he dies knowing what his odds are...

Eh, I don't want to kill him. I don't even know the guy... femShep was so slimy around him that I only talked to him for the loyalty. I don't think he's ever died on my playthroughs. Even on my first one when it didn't register that a tech was needed to infiltrate the tunnels. I just heard 'infiltrate' and 'tunnels' and sent Thane in there. Poor guy.

Besides, Jacob needs to be around to make a Prize comment when Shepard eliminates the Reapers or concludes a romance or something. It's a legendary meme now.

I finished my RP Paragon playthrough tonight. Jacob dies in the vents like he wanted to. Miranda dies versus Reaper Baby. All others survive, together with the whole crew.

The ending tends to make you regret you chose to feed Miranda to the Reapers. But she's still the person who's been conducting her own surveillance of your crew members without her Captain's knowledge or leave. On my ship, that won't continue.

Whatever happens, I've gotten rid of two more Cerberus operatives.

Not doing his loyalty mission of course, but at what point in the Suicide Mission should I let him do what?

Have him cast Barrier. Watch helplessly as he recasts Barrier under cover with full shields and life, thus making his Pull unavailable when it's most needed, then laugh as he says "nothing can hurt me" as three collectors focus their fire on him.

Again.

See that there is the only reason I would ever want a character to die... if they had terrible AI.

You might want to invest in LotSB's squad tactical shift

How can you people hate Jacob? He's the only one on the ship who's not batsh*t insane!

Because my Shepard totally acted creepy around him and that is his fault

I know this is tongue in cheek, but it's probably true for a fair number of male players that take on the role of female Shepard.  Bear with me.  Assume that Female Shepard serves as an extension of your average male player's heterosexuality, allowing him to live out the patriarchal fantasy of lesbian sex (hello, Liara) while completely removing all male eroticism from the equation by playing as a female.  When female Shepard, serving as a proxy for the player's masculinity, then expresses lustful desire for a man that is likely much more masculine than the player himself, it isn't hard to see why Jacob is so widely resented.

I've given this some more thought...

Ah, yes "masculinity"...We have dismissed this claim. A Krogan LI would be even more masculine than Jacob and guess what? No one would have these problems if it were Wrex.

Tell him to grind his abs up against Harbringer's shields. He'll die of exhaustion and Harbringer will be blown to pieces: 2 birds with one stone!

I bet this has been posted already but whatever. No loyalty mission, just let him go into the wind pipes but let him continue all through it and then when we get to the part where we meet the 2nd party he dies when he gets shot in head :P

offtopic I also had Samara not loyal and let her do the biotic field thing so she would die of exhaustion but instead my buddy Thane died FML!!! ='(

I have never gone out of my way to make anyone die in any of my playthroughs (even Miranda and I hate her)
