Hi guys,
some of you know me as one of those whining bastards who just didn't like DA II. There are loot of people here like me. I'm sure that BioWare have very long and nice list with things we don't like. Who knows, meaby that's why they move ME3 to next year. After feedback from changes in DA II that was in ME II they were planing to make something more stupid with ME3. Now meaby they will turn around and add things we love, and remove what we hated. Right now in their new titles (in my personal opinion) they remove most thing i did like and add things that i hate.
Anyway, some of you probably remember few harsh things about DA II i said. That's why i'm making this thread.

If you love, like, dislike or hate this game, i'm sure that there were one thing you like most in DA II. BioWare have list with reused locations, ninjas, stipid dialogs and stuff, now let's create list of nice things we want to keep.

Please add only *SINGLE ONE* thing you like in this thread. Once every few hours or days i will come here and update main topic with your propositions. Remember to read all posts before you add something. Make that one thing you like unique.
Also, put info if you LIKE or DISLIKE DA II overall. I will make 2 lists.

1. List of things you like in this game from people who dont like game itself.
2. List of things you like in this game from people who like the game (hell, meaby someone like ninjas).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LETS BEGIN (remember, one thing that is not mention in this thread
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 - Mage melee (Sabriana )
 - Varric (LookingGlass93 )
 - Loot all (R key on PC) (iceonica )
 - Duncan's Beard which original male Hawke has (Dodok )
 - different body models and animations for lady Hawke than for male Hawke (tishyw )

2. List of things you like in this game from people who like the game (hell, meaby someone like ninjas).

 - The friendship/rivalry system! (Andrastee )
 - Having several Companion Quests for each companion. Deep ones too. ("Dissent"!) (Persephone )
 - Liking the introduction of the "Snarky" dialogue option (Skane4 )
 - Enjoyed the characterisation/character writing of all companions the most (ydaraishy)
 - plot (Kangasniemi)
 - option to summon the dog (Bean-shidh )
 - Merrill (favourite character) (Systemlord Baal )
 - Hair has a little bit of animation (Shadow of Light Dragon )
 - Greater options in the Character Creation process, and made adj in the game itself (Elhanan )
 - The action/strategy hybrid approach to combat (Firky )
 - party members interact with each other and visit each other's homes (Fredvdp )
 - excellent writing and dramatic storytelling design (AndarianTD )

--------------------------------------------
Is see that in this thread, we goot loot of people who like the game. Good for you. I thing that's best aproach for all who love/hate is - for those who love something - mention one bad thing and for those who hate - mention one good thing.

Let's see....

Having several Companion Quests for each companion. Deep ones too. ("Dissent"!)

I am one of those pesky little Biodrones that loves this game to pieces!

I don't hate the game, I'm one of those on the "it's average" side.

I like:

Mages can melee with their staffs

Rogues, dps warriors, and even mages can draw away fire from a beleaguered comrade in battle, not only the tank

Varric

The companion quests (separate from companion interaction - that is a whole other issue and doesn't belong in the "liked" list at all)

Banter allows the PC to partake

The Qunari

I definitely agree with multiple companion quests. Now if only we could interact with them a bit more...(ala Origins). BTW, did anyone else find it a bit odd that the companions would rather hang out with Dog, than to spend time with Hawke?

I dislike this game. Alot. But, I do think that the combat was fluid, and exhilarating(im not talking about the wave mechanic, that was dire), and I also think Varric is an absolutely brilliant character, and should be kept for future games.

That's about it.

Liking DA2.

.) Liking the introduction of the "Snarky" dialogue option. It's a relief to have a different choice other than "Idealism" and "Damn-You-All".

Cheers.

The Warden also had snarky dialouge options. Not to be insulting but, didn't you read the dialouge choices in Origins?

Party banter

Cassandra Pentaghast

Morally ambiguous quests

FemWarrior outfits and Mage Champion Armour

And well... combat to a certain degree on higher difficulty levels (not the ridiculous enemy spawn)

Like. (Or a little more than like.)

Best thing for me was the way combat is evolving.

- Waves make you adapt to a changing environment (if people don't like them dropping from the sky, make them come around the corner, or vary it up so it happens 50% of the time.)
- Stats/class builds are flexible and interdependent across the party.
- The action features add to strategy, and a tradtional pause/issue orders approach, rather than detract from it, but dodge needs to be better implemented.
- CCCs and rogues are brilliant. (I'd like to see more complexity in future games - maybe CCCs based on more conditions or rogues with more abilities related to combat movement.)

Love the whole game but, since I can only add one thing, I must say that the plot is the thing I like the most of the game.

The plot is not your average "nameless orphan is the new jesus/budha/what-ever and saves the world" kind of crap 99% of RPGs have. The best thing about the DA2 plot is that you are damned no matter what you do, the factions in the game won't stop hostilities just because the PC says "well gee, I am the PC, play nice every one". I hope we will see more plots in games where the whole world doesn't revolve around the PC. I am fed up with those teenage power trip fantasies.

If I can mention just one thing, that will be the option to summon the dog. I wasn't using dog in DAO in quests at all and added the mabari just to hear the banter. I wouldn't be bothered if there was no dog in DAII but I know that a lot of people wanted the dog in the sequel and summoning it is a great compromise, in my opinion.
(I'm not a fan of ninjas but I still like DAII very much)

Everything Sabrina said.

I think DA2 is an interesting mix of win and fail which mixed up result in a below average game.

I love all the companions except Carver, who is a bit of a ******. Well, Sebastian was boring as well. There were some memorable NPCs (Cullen for example), but many were either bland, or did not get enough screentime (Orsino is a good example).

I'm not a big fan of the wheel, especially as often your choices were just ignored by the script (a deadly sin in RPG), but I DID like the option to turn the conversation over to a companion ("Fenris ? Glowfist please ")
I realize and accept the wheel is here to stay, so I am pleased that the choices had icons that gave some indication of what they were supposed to do.
I love the "everyone is hawksexual" angle. Ignore the haters and let love rule

I think the storyline concepts were good, but needed a lot more work, or were just done wrong (all mages are insane, illogical reactions, emoharvester etc). The Arishok by contrast was done excellently.

Skill trees were nice but some things were stupid like not giving Merril access to heal tree, effectively making her useless (thank the Maker for mods).

Only one thing? hm...I like a lot of things in DA2...hm, okay I got something:

Merrill - who has become my favourite character, not only in DA2, but throughout all of BW's games. The voice, the personality, different development due to friendship and rivalry paths (although that applies to the other characters, too) ... yeah, let's just say, I think she's awesome ^^

Oh and (obviously) you can add me under 2. because I very much like Dragon Age II.

I hate DA2.

Thumbs up for the Arishok though. He had more depth than Hawke and his shallow companions combined.
The only meaningful choice DA2 gave me was not having to kill him. Thanks for that.

Like (but not love).

Hair has a little bit of animation. It bounces. (Now if they can just take a closer look at some of the hairstyles and fix them so that they don't clip with the body's scalp...)

Oops. Sorry, I was in a rush and read over the 'single one', I guess the thread title having "list" in it stuck in my head.

If I had to pick just one of mine, the "Mage melee" would apply best.

Like the game.

Greater options in the Character Creation process, and made adj in the game itself via the Black E,porium.

Find a great look, then notice the eyes are wayyyy to wide open in cutscrnes, so go to BE for a cosmetic touchup. Wanna look a decade older than you did at the start? Go to the BE. Etc.

Thx. Thread going better that i was thinking. I was afraid of some kind flame war :-)
Last post with update was Elhanan. I will add more later.

I must agree strongly with Elhanan. This feature remind me of "Fable". Game was simple and have some innovations but the best thing i did like in Fable - was my character getting "bigger" when he train with big swords or older as the game progress. That was nice.
I was expecting something like this in DA II since the story get us 10 years of Hawke.
In Fable, you got whole life. Since around 10 years old to 60 or something like that :-)
