The only reason we're putting up some resistance now is because Shepard's been touched by the Prothean beacon, thus embodying two cycles of evolution. But maybe two cycles are still not enough. agreed, and it is not that only Prothean intervention, if i remember correctly, the Protheans had been observing us, even pyramids resembles to Prothean architecture. we were guided, altered by them (so were the Hannars and probably others as wall). maybe it was to prepare the next generations for the Reapers' cycle.

yes. Reapers have hinted that Shepard could help them several times. being unable to reply positively seriously cuts down our choice

but if we are forced to "betray" Cerberus i guess no one will ask us. Shepard will automatically say "we win you" whenever Reapers say anything

at this point I'm happy if Reapers have any deeper purpose than Galactuslike world devouring just because they need to do it.
