How to walk through the portal with Morrigan at the end...?

Already so I'm "pursuing" a romance with Morrigan and if I could get some advice on where to go from where I'm at that'd be great. Minimal spoilers please but if I have to know something just spit it out ;).

I have not completed any of the main quests yet (halfway through the dwarf one but I ran off to the mage quest to get more xp as my coercion was not high enough for several key parts)... I just found the Black Grimoire and accidentally clicked on Morrigan and she brought it up saying she wants it. I figure I'll gift it to her once I'm done clearing the tower of demons and back at camp.

So... I've heard doing different things can lead to her leaving your party. How do you prevent this? And how do I go through the portal with her at the very end of the game (or in Witch Hunt I guess). She's already at max "warm" and at the camp I can kiss/sleep with her whenever.

I have Origins ultimate edition, but I'm a tad confused about how the DLC all works. Some of the DLC clearly is in game, but some of the DLC are "seperate campaigns" it looks like. If someone could explain that to me too that'd be great. thanks, I know that's a bunch of questions lol. It doesn't seem to be like Mass Effect DLC where all the quest DLCs are incorporated into the main game/campaign.

You can't prevent her from leaving at the end of the game. You can only have her stay through the final battle, by doing what she tells you to do near the end. Trust me, you'll know when you get there.

There are 2 kinds of DLC for this game. There are the DLC Origins quests, like "Stone Prisoner" and "Warden's Keep" that you can play while playing Origins. There are also extra campaigns, like Witch Hunt, and Golems of Amagarrak, where you play them AFTER ORigins, by importing the character. Just finish Origins first, then get "New Game". If you installed the DLC, you'll get a window asking which game.

Okay cool... glad it'll be obvious.

For Witch Hunt, is it obvious too what decision I need to make to walk through the portal off to "neverneverland" with her?

I'm probably not going to be buying DA2, unless DA3 turns out to be fantastic, just cause I've heard so many bad things about it, so I'm groovy with my character disappearing into some alternate world or whatever it is.

thanks

The only way to miss the opportunity in Witch Hunt is if it isn't there, which would mean you make the wrong call in Origins (pretty hard to do by accident), it's not a hidden ending or anything.

Basically, do the thing Morrigan asks you to do at the end of the game with her - you'll know what I mean - at the end of Origins. Then in Witch Hunt, just choose the relevant options, its not too hard, its quite obvious which options to choose.

Edit: Made some stuff more vague to avoid spoilers.

Make sure you romance Morrigan and hold on to a certain accessory that she gives you. If you simply do "the ritual" but no romance in Origins, she won't let you follow her in Witch Hunt.

Yeah, as others have said, just play through Origins romancing Morrigan but be sure to keep her ring with you all the way through Awakening and into Witch Hunt.

As for the DLC, you have the ones like Stone Prisoner, Return to Ostagar and Warden's Keep which you can play as you're playing Origins. Darkspawn CHronicles and Leliana's Song are entirely separate things with no bearing at all on your Warden's adventures. So after you finish Origins you can import your Warden into Awakening then Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt last.

That is not required. Morrigan will accept if you go against her wishes and be prepared to take you along through the portal anyway if you meet the requirements, ie. if you have romanced her (to love?) and slept with her (I think this is a requirement).

If you are playing a female Warden in DAO, only allowing the ritual without romancing her will indeed not be sufficient for being allowed through the portal in WH. (my case)

It's a tad frustrating, actually. I really liked Morrigan as a chara, she's like a dark mirror of my own mage. She is (kind of) who I would have been under different circumstances. But romancing her with my female elf mage was just asking too much. So no, I wasn't allowed through the portal in the end.

She cannot just leave Morrigan be however, much to the contrary. Because a certain boy will be either the biggest threat or chance the magic-users community in Thedas has ever had. And so the followup to WH is clear for my Warden.

She found her once, she'll find her again. No hiding place on this side of the veil - or beyond - can be good enough to hide from an extremely powerful, vastly experienced, grotesquely influential, hideously determined Warden archmage. Who will dedicate her remaining life to researching a way to go after her.
:P

See you later, Morrigan.
