 Game: Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition
Problem: Installation Frozen
Details: Installation stops at "Installing: DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe"             Attempting to start game from splash screen results in immediate crash
Attempted Solutions: System requirements checked and easily met                                 Uninstallation and reinstallation (FULL uninstall i.e. deleted all         regedit files relevant to Bioware, EA, and Dragon Age)                                 Safe Mode with Networking run                                 System Restore (Normal and Safe Mode)                                 Turn off firewall during installation                                 Redownload C++ Redis and DirectX
Other Info: "Uninstall" button grayed out on splash screen                  CD-Key was registered and authorized at the time of installation process                Redemption code registered and authorized at time of installation process         Thx for the help.

Try again, and if it keeps failing, you can always use the cd key provided by steam and use it to register the game at EADM and download it from there. That also solved my dlc's issues.
