The twist of DA3 is, you get to play as a dragon.Drasanil wrote...
With the new DA anime coming out it seems like Cassandra will likely be the driving force behind DA3's plot... infact part of the reason behind having Cassandra as the focus for the anime could be to humanise her more much like the -Pre-DAO books did for Loghain.
How ever, that doesn't necessarily mean we'll be a seeker. We could be a hired gun or some one ropped in to helping her at the beginning (putting some character customisation back in), which also leads to the possiblity of betraying the chantry later on for those who have an obsessive hatred of it.
Cassandra, the heir of legendary dragon hunting clan and a Seeker is going to be your nemesis throughout the game.

I don't think anyone should be forced to play as a dwarf, as has been mentioned they're not popular, hopefully the option will be available once more in Dragon age 3.
Unfortunately I think dwarves are disappearing as playable characters in fantasy games of late... The focus has become set entirely on Humans and human-like races in almost every RPG and even MMO's released. Perhaps we should set up a dwarf conservation group.

A Qunari/Tal-Vashoth! A Qunari/Tal-Vashoth!
A nug! A nug!
... In all seriousness though, I do miss playing as non-humans. Elves in particular (dwarves don't do magic).

Who needs magic when you have a big axe?

I agree, magic is for sissies, there is nothing more fun than charging into the middle of a bunch of lanky gits and screaming TIMBER! every time you smack one in the face with a huge lump of metal.

Yeah call me unimaginative but I love playing the stereotypical dwarf with the big axe or maul, swinging at everything wildly and of course with a big thick beard.
