Has ranting about Dragon Age 2 become an unhealthy obession for you?

May I suggest that you channel your dissatisfaction into something more constructive (crack open the toolset and make a mod or something).
You're welcome.

I don't despise DA2 and I don't absolutely blindly love it. I do love the game, but I can see the flaws it has and I point them out. Also, I'm an alien

I am no longer excited about BioWare's future releases and will wait for thorough fan reviews before even considering buying Mass Effect 3 or the inevitable Dragon Age 3. BioWare is no longer the same studio that released Knights of the Old Republic or Mass Effect- now it's just another part of EA.

Keep on pointing out what you see as flaws, but do it in a straight-forward, non-generalizing, non-insulting fashion. Insulting others who disagree is counter-productive. Bioware can make of it what they will, but to rant, rave, and pitching a tantrum will most likely result in being purposely overlooked. As it should.
To those satisfied with DA 2:
The same applies, except it should read: pointing out what you liked, personally, without ranting, raving, sweeping generalizations, and pitching a fit if others disagree.
I don't hate the game. I think it's average and not worthy of bioware. That's my opinion, and the reasons for that opinion have been pointed out over and over, so I won't repeat them once again. I also think that there are improvements in DA 2 over DA:O. I also pointed those out.
Lol @ TEWR.

Some people do exaggerate though. DA2 is enjoyable even with all the crap on metacritic it managed to get an 80+ though I haven't checked if it has changed so Idk. Doesn't mean I'm happy with the entire game.
But honestly since people already complain so much enough for two people I have just been sticking to the Off-topic forums and the older bioware game forums.

I mean I can understand why some people were upset but come on... it's a videogame. All the crap going on in real life and people are getting fussy over a videogame? That's what I don't understand. That and why I keep coming back... because I know it would be better if I just waited it out for a few months and come back to see what's what on the next game. But I keep coming back...

I have become a hater, while I wanted to stay neutral.
It has become an obsession.

Unless you mean the DAO toolset, there is no toolset for DA2.

No. Don't you listen to this, Ray. It's art, not obsession.
Erhm, how are your expansions coming by the way? Not that *I'm* obsessed by anything....

@KnossosTNC
You were in my head on that one and I couldn't have stated that position any better, TY much for saving me typing words
@Sabriana
I think I may be one of the few people who really liked NWN as-is, though the HotU really made the game, I'll admit. It was NWN2 that turned me off most since it seems to action like and hack-n-slash, though I had friends tell me I need to get MotB,. See, different people see different things

I displaced my obsessive ranting and raging into compulsively following your posting
A healthy dose of Dwarf Fortress seems to be best to counter negative feelings

no worries I was just joking
and it'll probably begin not long after I finish up the editing and illustrating of Origins in DA2 Style, which is currently progressing well
don't want to hijack this thread though so I'll return to topic and say that while I do have some strong opinions on what DA2 did wrong, I try to keep them constructive and only share them in discussions where they're appropriate. far more unhealthy is my obsession with cheesecake, but self discipline, limited funds and the fact that sainsbury's stopped selling those £1 cheesecakes in favour of slightly smaller and more expensive ones... sorry, back on topic. that was my example of an unhealthy obsession

It's a GAME. A game I love. (Though I'm not blind to its flaws, just as I am not blind to Origins' flaws)
Bioware has disappointed me before. NWN. Awakening (Worst of the bunch). Played them, reviewed them, moved on. No game I hate, no matter how much I was initially looking forward to it, deserves so much of my time, energy and emotion. Having seen franchises thrive and die (Anyone remember Might and Magic X?) before, I fail to see the allure in working myself into a frenzy because a GAME didn't turn out the way I had hoped it would.
The drama, interlaced with hyperbole, death threats, name calling, demanding people's jobs and other such disgusting behavior.....that is what bothers me more than anything else.

The dissatisfied seem to like DAO more, so maybe that one. Any toolset (NWN, Witcher, etc...) really that provides free content that competes with DA2 is probably not a bad idea.Phaedros wrote...

Because there are way more important issues than games when it comes to the world I want my children to be a part of.
