Ohhh snap! And on that note...apparently the word a day calendar was not ambitious.
Now, while I don't think the story idea(s) were ambitious...I see their potential. Three great story possibilities... Weird, creepy thaig pointing us towards dwarves that did use magic. Quanari invasion of Thedas once again. And the mage templar ho-down. All three of those make me hunger for more on those story ideas.
As a wanna-be writer, I just know these are living and breathing on someone's computer, or at the very least, in their heads. Oh, how I long to talk to the writers unifficially. I know that it is just some fantastic, juicy, story telling right there. Because, lets face it, BioWare does have some amazing talent working for them. Rushed or no.
Glad you mentioned that ancient thaig! I remember when I did my first playthrough, that part really did grab my interest... unfortunately, it was just used as a one-dimensional plot locale to push the idol into the storyline. I wanted to know more about it, wanted to explore it more, find out what those ancient dwarves were doing.
But instead... we got what was apparently a lyrium idol that was actually a reaper indoctrination device that allowed Harbinger to assume direct control over Meredith in Act 3.
ROFLMAO!!! Very true! The frustrated archeologist in me was dying for more clues as we traveled through it looking for a way out.
I just sensed something soooo much bigger, coupled with Sandal's weird "not enchantment" statment. Made me wonder if he was the lost child from some dwarven progenerators who used magic and still existed in thaigs even deeper underground. It just smacked of a big juicy story waiting to be told. Hell, it made me come up with a whole slew of ideas in my own head. ACK! The titalation! BioWare is such a tease!
