Apparently they don't want any hint of him being related to Kahlee Sanders. Thus the name change.

I only wonder why they didn't think of that before.

My understanding is that BioWare has specifically said he isn't.

Not to mention there was some generic NPC named Williams in the Arrival DLC, though there was no relation to Ashley Williams.

I quite liked Sanders.  But if the storyline isnt one there going down (ie related in some way to Kayleigh) Then I guess it would make sense to change it.


Oh and the Dev quote.   "The Sniper in the Trailer isnt James Sanders"  

Your right it isnt anymore.  They could be sneaky because the sniper is now James Vega!

Not gonna lie, street fighter Vega popped in my head instantly when i read the thread.

Like Terror mention earlier, Vega is no new name. It's the name of one of the brightest stars in the sky, which we've known of since before recorded history. More info below:
