Clearly the writers of the article on that website don't understand sarcasm. Word for word what it says in the OXM article is:

"The fact that we've been made to care for him so much almost guarantees he'll die."

Garrus can die in ME2?

Ask yourself.

Would Bioware really kill Garrus off even if you do everything right? Especially after giving him Special Treatment for ME2 and now ME3?

Be careful what you read, writers like to fill in the blanks when it comes to things like this, BioWare wouldn't release a spoiler like that. Also, can you change the name of the thread? this title may upset people

The whole thing seemed to be a rumor and the idiotic ramblings of a gaming magazine.

Though I'm sure Garrus will have a chance to die, just like everyone else will.

Oh, it will probably happen. This is the end of the galaxy here, all bets are off.

You'll just have a choice like everything else. Bioware isn't killing a character, especially one as popular as Garrus, without the player having a choice in it.

Alternate spelling.

Garrus can die in ME2, if he's able to die in ME3 I predict it being a choice from anyone in your squad.

I think everyone should be capable of dying in ME3 this is going to be the biggest bloodiest battle in ME history squadmates should be dying in the final battle even if you do everything right having everyone make it out in the end seems like too much of a rainbow and kitten ending.

I wouldn't mind if key characters like Garrus get killed off if its EPIC.
I wish the game would let us take control of those characters and make decisions for themselves, not just Shepard choosing.

Like say on Virmire, instead of Shepard deciding, the character's choice caused one of them to decide to stay for themselves.

Imagine a suicide mission where someone has to stay back and hold off hordes of enemies while the rest go on, I'd probably choose Grunt for the task because he would LOVE to go out that way, but Garrus would do as well.
BUT I want to play the character during their glorious death! Killing off characters should have been much more epic than they were in ME1 and ME2, it should be a mini-game in itself, going for the high score if you know what I mean.

If they kill Garrus off then I'll cry. He's lovely and my favourite squad mate in the game. Those damn calibrations may be damned annoying but he could calibrate my vitals any time

Now my money is on BioWare killing off Shepard at the end of ME3...

They've said that it's possible to get the super happy ending and keep playing after the ending, so I doubt anyone always, always dies (like on virmire).

I think they will do something similar to ME2 on the characters in which they can either live or die depending on your decisions you make during ME3.

I think garrus will be one of the hardest to die during ME3 considering he is such a hard ass especially considering he nearly died in ME2.

But I would not rule out the possibility of him dying in a fight to the death scenario
