I still see alot of people saying 'Until Bioware confirms it it is just speculation' and that PSM was full of mistakes so that could be one too. Well, yeah, PSM was full of mistakes, but everyone seems to have missed something. Bioware HAS confirmed that at least Kaidan is a spectre, and considering their parallels, i'd say Ashley will be one too. Now I bet your wondering where they confirmed it? How about here?

Look at Kaidan's chestplate, the right part of it, what logo do you see? It is partially covered by glare. I can't believe I missed when I first looked at it. It is even in the Gameinformer article.

So, that settles that...

I admit I hadn't seen that, the light glare obscures it quite a lot. I figured Kaidan's new armour was Spectre gear, though.

I hope Ashley has similar armour, and isn't wearing that blue catsuit and makeup all the time. If that's just her dressed for a formal occasion, it'd be more fitting.

Also, how come Shepard doesn't get access to cool Spectre armour? Tela Vasir and Kaidan both do!

Well Spectre armor was in Mass Effect 1, you can get it on the PC.

But they removed it for some stupid reason.

Also, Kaidan seems to be a Captain now, as opposed to being a lieutenant in ME1. Look at them gold bars on his collar

If Kaidan does turn out to be a Captain now, and Shep is still part of the Alliance military, this would mean that Kaidan is now a superior officer? I think that could make things slightly awkward, especially in a Kaidan-Shep romance, unless they plan on promoting Shepard too. Or maybe just promote Kaidan to the rank of Commander instead, so they're equals.

Unless they intended on having Kaidan use a variation of the 'having you serve under me' line from ME1 as Shepards superior. I think i'd approve that!

The problem with that is Kaidan is already a Staff Commander in ME2, and Shepard is a Lieutenant Commander. He already outranks Shepard.

I find it funny how kaidan out ranks shep(unless the ranking has changed in the future). I know sheps been dead for two years and before he or she was a specter, but kaidan compared to shep is very unbalanced

EDIT: Ignore me, I read your post wrong.

I keep forgetting Shepard is a Lt. Commander and not a full Commander. Maybe promote Shepard to Commander in ME3, so they still refer to him/her as Commander but now with extra authority? Again, i'm assuming that Staff Commander is outranked by Commander but honestly I don't know how the military ranks work in the ME Systems Alliance.

A lot of Shepards chose to give the Council the finger in ME2 and no longer have Spectre authority or privledges.

But i'd agree that ranks don't *really* matter too much any more, Shepard is too much of a charismatic badass to be limited by ranks and rules.

A couple of you seem to think I'm acting like this is new. Of course it isn't, that is exactly my point. That image was in the GI article, which was the first magazine ME3 exclusive to be released, but this whole 'VS is/isn't a Spectre' thing started because of the PSM article. I'm just providing (old) proof that Bioware themselves have confirmed they are Spectres, so no-one can say that it is just speculation and keep their heads in the sand.

What I'm actually interested in is whether you guys knew of the logo, or you just noticed it because it was 'hidden' by glare.
