Don't pull my leg, Admiral. I actually like you but I'm allowed to be angry in this situation. Bioware took a **** all over the rest of the ME2 fanbase and lo and behold! Garrus and Tali are the only characters returning from the previous game AGAIN. Despite them being optional and killable.
So don't baby me. This is bull**** and it's sad that people approve of this.
What do you mean, "only?" Dude, this game doesn't come out until next year and you're assuming we have all the information already? What kind of marketing campaign introduces the entire team over half a year before the game even comes out? Don't you see what they're doing here--keeping a few secrets hidden and revealing information slowly to get to to pay attention to their marketing stunts? Oh, and let's not forget that maybe they don't want to spoil the entire game this time? Seriously, chillax--Casey Hudson himself stated that every single old squadmate will be in the game somehow, and this is only the first wave of information. My money's on at least one more confirmed squadmate at E3.
And really, your expectations are a bit unrealistic. Know who my two favorite characters in ME1 were? Wrex and Lorik Qui'in. Guess who got cameo'd? Guess who didn't show up at all? An even greater predicament is that Hudson hinted that Wrex won't be a squadmate yet again, plus two of my favorite characters--Samara and Kasumi--will probably be taking a ride on the cameo express as well.
Liara is one of my least favorite squadmates, and I could care less about Tali. However, I understand that they are greatly loved by a lot of fans and have a purpose to serve in the story. I can recognize that Samara and Kasumi were pretty much one-shot deals, even though I largely considered them my "soul sistas." Tali and Liara, meanwhile, have the benefit of a massive fanbase, plot relevance, and unflinching loyalty to Shepard.
I can deal with my personal wants and opinion being different from the majoirty and the intentions of the game devs. Yeah, Garrus' return makes me happy (in the pants), but seriously, I was rolling my eyes for a while at Liara being a full-time squaddie again (because apparently being the Shadow Broker is less important than running around with a pistol). However, that's not a game breaker for me, and it shouldn't be for you, either.
