So we're stuck with Garrus and Tali... Again. Yawn.

Uhh No.. Liara told Shepard about everything in the game...

I don't remember that. All I remember is, "Shepard! Now... I need your help with this problem I could do myself...".

Are we even talking about the same characters anymore? Or...the same game for that matter?

Because I'd call all that talk about "engineered to be perfect" and bending over so the camera can get a better shot of her ass turning a character into a sex object.

Miranda was a sex object but nowhere near the likes of Garrus and Tali who their rabid fans demanded every day untill it was revealed in ME2 that they be made sexable. Tali lost all character and turned into a virgin fangurl while Garrus turned into that distant GAR man that reqiures a womans touch to open up fully again.

For Tali,I partialy agree, except she had no character in ME1 to lose.
For Garrus,I completely disagree. He's been through hell between ME 1 and 2,of course he is all f*cked up.

Oh, good one...

And every other romance is not in some form a cliché or trope, I take it?

Shepard recruited them for the Suicide Mission. Than why the hell is Tali and Garrrus back over the others?

Also, are you telling me that Exiled Tali wouldn't leave but Romanced Miranda would? Really?

Miranda is with Cerberus.... She would definitely leave.

Are you telling us that you've seen the ME:3 lineup, where they categorically state that ONLY Tali and Garrus are returning?  Or are there too many 'variables' for them to return?

The way I see it, they're the only ones who have stood by Shep regardless of their view on things.

They respected and trusted their Commander above everyone else. That in itself is enough for wishing them to be back for me, set aside the romances.

I mean, wouldn't it be nice to have at least a couple of people that were that loyal over the course of the three games?

That was in a comic series that most didn't read.  ME2 makes no mention of it other than Miranda saying that 'they' had recovered the body.

With how the novels went I find it doubtful the comic is even 100% canon and may only be canon if you romanced Liara.

Liara mentions that if you pick the right options. And really, it's not that hard to figure out.

Let me tell you, Elite. It is great to be a Talimancer right now, I'll admit. My favorite character is going to be a full squadmate in ALL THREE GAMES in the Trilogy! You don't get luckier then that, man. But here's the thing- I hope the same for your favorite as well.

All of us that have been fans of the series deserve to get really fulfilling conclusions for all of the squadmate's character arcs as far as I'm concerned. Especially the love interests, but I'll be disappointed if even just the non romanceable squadmates all get reduced down to some throwaway cameo.

I have a feeling that in this respect my opinion is also the one the majority of the ME fanbase shares, and is the one that Bioware and Casey Hudson have listened to the closest. That we care about the teams we've assembled over the past two games more than perhaps anything else about the world they've built.

Your hope is in vain. Bioware has spoken and the rest of the fanbase has been shafted again.

Too bad we wont. If those Squaddies aren't Tali and Garrus than expect only a cameo and no fulfilling ending of ther stories.

No, you're just the most vocal. VS fans are very large as well but we were ignored all ME2. Bioware has finally wised up for ME3 but they than messed up and shafted ME2 Squaddies not called Tali/Garrus just like they shafted VS in ME2.

All they seem to care about now is the money and pandering to those that whine the most. DA2 is a prime example of this.

Guys, let's not be mean here.

Elite is not a troll. A troll says things just to ****** people off. Generally they don't even care about the subject they are using as a medium for a troll.

Elite genuinely hates the fact that two fictional characters are returning in a fictional universe.

I never understood the romancing of Garrus and Tali. It's like making love to a monitor lizard and a mechanical body suit... neither of those sound attractive. Especially if, by chance, whatever is in that mechanical body suit might resemble Cthulhu.

It's not all about sex,you know?

Uh-huh. It's more like those freaky fetishes; up there with hentai and S&M.

So Ashley doesn't exist? Last time I checked Garrus was Shepard 2.0 and did whatever I told him to. Tali? She fangurled all over me in ME2 and never questioned my Paragon choices.

No, it wouldn't. Not at the expense of everyone else or the fact that they can DIE. If they die Bioware has sai you lose massive content. Anyone else die? Well, you miss that unimportant cameo that is replaced with that random NPC.

But he doesn't hate them enough to kill them off on the suicide mission or refuse to recruit them (granted, this isn't possible with Garrus in ME2 but he could give up on Tali and there are other tech experts in the game).

I hate that they're returning when they're optional, killable amd already had a return from a previous game when no one else did. Especially over those that are hard to kill and mandatory like Miranda.

It's just like ME1.

Bioware caves to the Garrus and Tali fans again at the expense of everyone else.

I TOLERATED them in ME2 and recruited them because it made sense to get a Leader and an Engineer. They were made killable if you were an idiot. My Shepard wasen't an idiot. As punishment for beating their game perfectly I have to get Tali and Garrus again yet if I wanted any of the other ME2 Squaddies over them? Too bad Bioware tells me! They don't matter they tell me!

Bull****.

Than I point to ME2 and ME3. Your point is void because Bioware caved again and again for that virgin fangurl.

Nah, better to start a thread about how in ME:1 the entire cast of ME:2 got shafted, 'cause you know, they got zero screen time...

My condolences original poster...... I'm a fan of both Tali and Garrus, so it looks like I get to enjoy ME 3 to it's fullest extent and you get to stamp around and throw a tantrum.

Then again that's your perogative.    Keep in mind Bioware is not going to custom tailor the game just so it has all the features YOU want.

As a fan of Garrus, I was a little disapointed he did'nt have more dialgoue in ME 2 ....  Did I come on to the forum's and whine and wimper and throw a hissy fit?

No........

Amen.  Like it or not, in the context of the narrative, Tali and Garrus have a role to fulfill: that of Shepard's inseperable Space Bros.  This is the role that many players have sought to solidify, and perhaps even deepen through a romantic subplot, and any self-respecting game developer would be insane to remove content most players find greatly enjoyable just because a vocal minority disapprove, especially since it is within that minority's power to remove that content themselves.

Don't like hamburgers?  That's fine; don't eat 'em.  However, you cannot expect a diner to stop serving hamburgers just because you don't like them, especially if they are the most popular menu item.
