$5 seems cheap enough. Although here in the rip-off Britain 400M$ points works out closer to $8, which still only equates to 2 pints of beer in my own personal currency. So yeah, well worth it ,imo!

That said, I can't help feeling just a tad disappointed that it doesn't include a storage chest, ala Warden's Keep. It occurs to me that all DLC for this game should include a storage chest as standard issue. That way, we impoverished console owners wouldn't have to prioritize which DLC we invested our money in, purely to get our hands on content that really should have been included in the game in the first place.

But hey, ho.....such is life, I guess.   Posted Image

WK also added 2 new spells. .. While i enjoy DAO and support DLC i am starting to wonder if a common trend in the industry is to hold back content that would normally have shipped on the disk in order to sell it as DLC. When a $99 game (in Australia at least, so $91 USD) launches on the same day that $22 worth of DLC launches eyebrows have to raise.

Sure the game shipped with 80 hours worth of content which is what we have all come to expect from quality RPG titles but was uit originally 82 hours before someone realised here is a good way to make some extra profit?

good idea bioware,will buy it...

time to give the people what they REALLY want now tho..

continuation of main game (if only short , it would lift the ending )

make something in orlais or something.. then when you return you would have the platform for more dlc and carry on sidequests.

At this point i could care less about DLC. Take the people working on DLC and put them on the non-existent customer support group.

Best DLC so far was what FO 3 did with Point Lookout. A new area with a "major" plot line but also a lot of smaller plots and explorations. Lot of gameplay in that little SoB as well,

That's kind of what I'm expecting to happen here, a Bethesda type of move. Start with smaller stuff just to get stuff out there then come out with some big stuff to expand the story line and such. So unlike most here I'm going to wait and see what happens in a few months to a year and then pass judgement. As I said I want to wait a bit before I start crying bloody murder, we've had one actual DLC released and I don't think it was all that bad. If they start pumping out DLC like Beth did with Point Lookout and the one before that, forgot the name, then I can look past a few short comings.

You cheap, tight bastards.

Whining about pricing when you probably got the game in the US for $40, whereas in Aus it retailed for $90+.

Get a job.

I wouldn't mind reclaiming the King's armor and fighting an entire army of Dark Spawn for five bucks :)

Myself, I'm very happy with the game.

I've found the DLC well done and fun and the armor from The Wardens Keep is freaking nice!

Thanks for the heads up Sidney, I'll go get that new DLC for FO3 post haste.

Good job BioWare, keep it coming.

haha

Yeah, I felt the game was worth it to buy it but I'm not gonna pay for DLC's that just add a little extra loot to the table and probably a small runthrough dungeon.

Give me more characters or something, that would be nice. Either that or give a developing story, not flashbacks.

i agree, lets have some more characters bioware!

how many times are you going to say this before they are done? how many "just $5" are there going to be before you start adding up how much money you're spending it, and compare it to what you'd spend on an expansion that would actualy come with a box and a disk and maybe a map/poster or something similar?

I just care about getting value. Will DLC give me the most value for my cash, not likely but will it at least beat the cost per hour of grins for a movie, concert or sporting event. Most likely it will and since DLC doesn't compete for my attention with hypothetical expansion packs but with other real-life forms of entertainment it'll be ok in my books.

EDIT: Nvm...just read another topic made by a Bioware rep that says you can use your epilogue save to run through the content so that's good at least.  A bit worrisome that he said it should take your average gamer an hour to run through it but on the other hand could just be they're being a bit more realisitic about the time it would take than they were with their estimate for Warden's Keep.

By the way, that other topic where the rep is answering questions should really be stickied.  Just my opinion.

I'm glad you can at least use the epilogue save to run through it.

I don't mind DLC and supporting Bioware by purchasing it. However, if DLC does mean that there will be no further expansions for Dragon Age, then I'll be very disappointed. Bits of content here and there just doesn't feel as satisfying as playing an actual expansion, IMO.

Is this going to be the same misleading crap that Warden's Keep was?

Because that promised a base of operations.

What you got was merchants chilling outside in the ****ing cold and a chest to store stuff. It didn't even function like a real camp. So no, it was not a base of operations at all.

Also what you decided to do with Avernus was pretty ****ing moot because you can't get back in. Patch the damn DLC before releasing a new one I say.

And oh great. Might as well call this Alistair's mod. Much like Warden's Keep, I fear the loot available here is gonna pass by my Rogue (now Mage) and go off to the developer's favorite party member, Alistair. >___<

I think they need to make sure there is more content in the new module than in Warden's Keep. Don't get me wrong, what was there was good - but it was SHORT.

1 hour for $7 = unhappy customer

incredible armor upgrade + incredible weapon upgrade from warden's keep = customer realizes these things are just a bribe.

I'll wait to hear what people say on this one.

Wardens Keep could have been better but that doesn't mean this one won't be better.

What's important to me, is that, when I come to bio-ware I expect compelling story. If this is just a dungeon crawl, without the story to back it up, count me out, however, if there is a good story with it I'll buy it.

I just don't want to support it if it's a dull story. I want to see reactions from Alister when he see's the bodies of the wardens and Morrigan making fun of him. If it's good, has an effect on the character and offers a choice, its good bio-ware work. If it doesn't do those things, it's a cash in imo.
