Is this going to be the same misleading crap that Warden's Keep was?

Because that promised a base of operations.

What you got was merchants chilling outside in the ****ing cold and a chest to store stuff. It didn't even function like a real camp. So no, it was not a base of operations at all.

Also what you decided to do with Avernus was pretty ****ing moot because you can't get back in. Patch the damn DLC before releasing a new one I say.

I'm not sure what you thought they meant when they spoke of base of operations. Surely you didn't expect that to be the new camp site, it's be kind of stupid to walk all the way up there to rest if you're walking from Redliff to the Dalish Camp.

I do agree on the second part though, was kind of stupid that they locked the doors on you. I was hoping to get a chance to go back and talk to Avernus and learn a few more things so I left him alive. Next time, not so much.

Willing to bet that it's Maric's Dragonbone Runeblade he found in the Deep Roads.

Base of operations as in adding something like a Keep restoration aspect to the game where you can at least have something like I dunno, a training ground for fresh recruits? Or something close to it being a base of operations. I obviously did not mean it to take over the camp site, but actually function like one.

What's the point of reclaiming it 'for the Wardens' when in the end, it's just a glorified merchant shop for weirdos who like getting their asses frozen off.

Kinda looks just like the Meteor sword.

If you're not happy with the price and its content, wait for larger combination dlc packs?

I agree about the base of operations crazy with Warden's Keep. It was a glorified merchant stop, not much better than what you had at camp or any other merchant store littered around in towns and cities.

Couldn't even go inside the Keep that was liberated to BE the base.

Im not concernd with the price but with the content. Spending 5 bucks for 30 min would be a bit of a waste. I think i will get it anyway, if just to get that armor or get a glimpse of duncans fate.

I just hope that they don't make only these little quest-dlcs. More content after the end of the main plot, some challenging big battles or even some alternative campaign / 'episodes' would satisfy me more. I think the DLCs will be somewhat a waste of money if each of those packs only keeps you playing the time Wardens Keep does.

My problem isn't with the price either. I can certainly afford it, but I don't like them just milking the cow in such a cheap way. Dungeon crawl DLC for resources that are already in the game?

:/

yeah but i found that if you didn't have levi stay on and make it a merchant camp you could learn more from avernus. it was still open. the game is truly based on every little decision you make it seems

I think they need to make sure there is more
content in the new module than in Warden's Keep. Don't get me wrong,
what was there was good - but it was SHORT.

1 hour for $7 = unhappy customer

incredible
armor upgrade + incredible weapon upgrade from warden's keep = customer
realizes these things are just a bribe.

Agreed.

I have a feeling this expansion will be all about the loot, last about
a good hour, and a sprinkle of old recognizable characters.   Honestly
I'd pay a lot more than $5 for a
big dlc focusing on a bigger storyline.

But I'll still give it a shot.

*sigh* I really am a sucker...

kind of link in NWN 2 where you get to upgrade the keep and eventually it gets attacked, this too is what i was expecting... sill have my fingers crosses for it and that in future DLC a certain warden mage will come back with some new spells for me, hell i didnt kill him, he owes me ... right?

i don't know who's more entertaining in this thread, the corporate shills or the starry-eyed idealists.

I know who's more annoying - anyone, regardless of view or side, who says things just to push buttons.

DLC's are probably here to stay, and I don't mind them at all.

What I fear are subscription games - oh, wait, those exist.

$50 + $15 per month, paying over $200 a year to play the same game.  Whee.

I think I am going to try the new DLC. This game got me hooked. ;)

About the price... It's about the same as a couple of beers. And those don't last that long. :P

BTW: I wish that BioWare would create a proper expansion too, though. Something more substantial than a single quest. Of course they won't be able to do that for 5 dollar. But I am in the market for such a real expansion.

Looks really lame. Going back to the same area, except with snow textures. Can loot golden armor that can be had from mods already. Beginning to think Bioware thinks we're suckers.

us PC guys can do mods.. the poor console saps are the suckers who are gonna be the most shafted :P

I don't believe i'll be buying this one, atleast until I see some good debate on it. I have no issues with DLC if you get a good deal for the price, I dislike how they seem to be charging depending on the items given.. the charges should be based on the amount of time it took the devs to make it due to how in depth it is.

Hmm.

Well. I had always wanted to go back to Ostagar, so there is that. On the other hand, I wonder how much of it is going to be recycled content. Retextured Starfang didn't do a lot to alleviate that concern either. :P

Of course, if it is a lot of retextured material, maybe it will at least be longer in duration, which would be nice?

I dunno. I like the idea of DLC, and just before I saw the tweet regarding checking the news tomorrow (today, now) had actually been checking here to try find the news on the next DLC! So in that regard, yay!

Honestly though?

I hope to God that there will be a proper full expansion. I'm not morally outraged by DLC or anything, I'll probably pick this up as well, but it doesn't replace a full expansion in my book. So. *fingers crossed* for that, eh? :)

Anyone expecting a whole new quest line is probably going to be disappointed.

Well, for $5, they'll make the battlefield accessible, covered with snow textures and the player kills darkspawn, explores the area, finds Calain's corpse and then loot the armor. Maybe a dialogue or 2 with survivors.

Something that should have been in the game in the first place.

Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner were extras which need not be in the game so I can understand that, however to continue the story by going back to Ostagar and charging $5 is rude.

It's like buying a 30 chapter book without chapter 15 in it and then the author releases chapter for 15 for $5, "Oops, I've finally finished chapter 15, but I have to charge you $5."
