I might actually get this one. I still haven't cared to get WK but maybe after my first playthrough. Bioware can you give a bundle deal this and WK for $10?

Even after you beat the game, it creates a save game for you that is up to date in terms of your gear and xp etc, but chronogically is set before you defeat the blight, just so that you CAN play DLC without having to make a new char if you don't want to. :)

I hope
to God that there will be a proper full expansion. I'm not morally
outraged by DLC or anything, I'll probably pick this up as well, but it
doesn't replace a full expansion in my book. So. *fingers crossed* for
that, eh? :)

Go read the thread started by Rob Bartel. He went as close to saying there is as he could....

Thanks for that tip, Van! I went and looked, and believe I found the quote in question which is VERY, VERY promising, for those also wondering, Rob's quote follows:

I can only re-iterate that we have a variety of different types and
sizes of content planned and under development. Neverwinter Nights was
able to support two expansion packs and multiple premium modules, for
instance, and both proved to be perfectly valid business models (if
anything, the expansion packs proved to be a much better business model
than the premium modules but that's a big part of why we felt it was so
important to have downloadable content available for Dragon Age on Day
1).

Thread: http://social.biowar.../index/241198/  (Quote taken from Rob's post, page 12)

I can't seem to get the DLC on my 360. Am I braindead today from my pain meds, or what?? Where is it??Posted Image

Or what...

It's not been released yet, won't be for awhile.

That's why it doesn't say 'Available Now' in the upper left corner the way the other DLCs do :P

Thank you miss... I was all in a fluster, and was getting very irritated. You know, a hard day at work, rumours of DLC, and well Bioware was mean lol. (I still love your company guys, and will still buy your games!! Honest)

Appreciate the answer.

I'm done spending money on this game. I'll play with the content I have and when I get bored I'll get a new game rather than sinking all that money into just sprucing this one up.

$50 toward an entirely new game will go much further than the piddly little DLCs they are overcharging for.

They charge because it costs money to develop new content just like an MMO. If you don't like it don't buy it plain and simple =). Also search Ebay or a website like CdKeyHouse (google it) for less prices. You can get the digital deluxe edition for 30 bucks and includes all the DLC. Gotta learn where to shop if you wanna save :). Also includes wallpaper/soundtrack. Way better than $65.

You'll be spending just as much on a new game.  Most of them are around 10 hours in length, so $5 per hour.  I imagine if you're not into the lore or into the game, I guess it would be wise to move on... for the others, we will be delighted to get our hands on extra content. =)

Yay the game is full of bugs, the plate armor is clippy as hell, Bhelins beard goes inside his chest whenever he talks, there are quest markers that are broken, there's a memory leak, there are broken skills and missing items, and instead of fixing these things Bioware is making more DLC that we have to pay for. Way to go BioWare you just justified piracy to everyone who ever even thought of Pirating your game.

Not if the trend towards MW2 is the norm in the current market, you may just pay $50 for $5 worth of dlc.....

More story driven side quests please, in BG2 I actually stoped talking to people for a while in fear of getting another quest!

I've never had that feeling in a RPG since then, it warms my heart to see Dragon Age get so close to the oringal feeling I truly love this game for that.

In my eyes more Dragon Age can only be a good thing.

Its obvious Bioware is reselling content from the game. Ostagar? In the game already. King Calian's Armor? Marics Sword? In the game already and according to the Strat guide was suppose to be attainable already, so its obvious they cut it out of the game just to sell it to us now.

You have fanboys should get your heads out of wherever you stuck it because this Reeks of EA BS. This isnt a DLC, its a disguised microtransaction just like the others. Shale? Originally in the game, but Bioware admitted they took the golem out and gave it to the DLC team. The Storage Chest? Could easily have been patched in to the main camp.

Everyone with the negativity needs to just get over it. I'll tell you what, go find another game equal to DAO and you'll be able to put creedance to your complaints. Other than that, just stop playing the game and move on. So unless you want to do one of the two I just brought forth, stop your belly aching, it's really getting OLD!

More EA crap, the story should have been complete on release. If you want to add DLC do it like Fallout 3 or the Modules they released for NWN 1 or even 2, they are completely different stores, not addon's to middle of the existing game. It's bad enough you pay $60+ and expect to get everything get you need to shell out for solider peak to get a storage chest. I know it's a business but at least stop screwing the gamer over with incomplete games.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I knew it was bull **** when they said Shale came after lockdown the moment I saw where Shale is listen in the Console, I really believe that she was part of the original game cut out and packaged in DLC, but I didn't mind because Shale was free. I highly suspect that BioWare hasn't been honest with us.

Rather than work on more DLC though they really need to get their **** together and fix the Memory Leak issues people are having, and fix some of the known bugs.

The DLC team is not the same as the team making patches.

About the bugs, I haven't encountered any other than the memory leak.  Never seen broken quests, skills, or missing items.  I might be used to clipping as a lot of games have that issue, so I can't comment on NPCs with clipping problems.  Plate armor on Alistair, this character, and on my rogue doesn't seem to clip, but I guess I picked hair styles that avoided it.

I wonder what would happen if you took Alistair, Wynne and the 'Secret Companion'. I hope in particular they have some dialogue from the 'Secret Companion'.

The only way I'd fully oppose DLC is if they really started to lower the amount of playable content on retail boxes to facilitate the purchase of DLC. Also, if they did not change the retail box price to reflect the lower amount of content.

Which, in some games, that's already been seen.

I think DA:O is a fair product out of the box, but like I said. I'll buy another game when I'm bored of DA:O rather than sink more money into it.

Or an extreme plot twist like Duncan still being alive. Or his corpse conspicuously absent from the battlefield.

Hmmm...so that's why I could never enter the main camp in Ostagar. They were using that path for the DLC. Not to mention the character never really set foot on the valley below where the battle took place.

I think there will be enough new areas to satisfy everyone.

The concept of trickling out DLC in this type of a game just doesn't appeal to me. An extra hour's worth of content isn't going to motivate me to replay the entire game so why would I bother to buy it a few months after I bought the original. Now if they'd announced an expansion pack, I'd be standing here with an open wallet.

Knowing that this is Bioware's business model, it just makes it less likely that I'll pick up their next game at release. I might as well wait a few months till it's half price and pick up the game and whatever DLC they've released for it for less than I would have paid for the game itself if I'd bought it when it first came out.

We never were able to fully explore Ostagar.  King Cailan's armor is, of course, in the game as he is wearing it.  Maric's sword is a long sword, not a two handed sword, so we will more than likely not find it on King Cailan.

Maybe some of us enjoy the story and lore that these "microtransactions" add to the game?  Of course, you seem to think of these addons as just additional equipment and probably could careless about the plot, story, or characters.  You seemed to have missed out on a lot of reading about Shale and I will not look for the posts for you... just know that you are wrong.  Storage chests could have been added, but no one doing QA had problems with inventory management and thought it would just be a good addition for DLC.  I agree with them as well, as I have had no problem with my inventory getting close to max.

Agreed, but face it they will not lower the price, think of the people who buy stuff on Steam or the like, they pay the same amount for a boxed product and the publisher does not have those extra costs to contend with.  Heck they do that with ebooks also, it's sad that people support sites like that.

Hey don't knock Steam! I gotten many games priced much lower than what you found in a retail store.
