What I hope for most is some unique locations and not just a retread on what we've seen, that would further fuel the anti-DLC beliefs of many. Crossing the bridge, there was a huge battlefield below, where the king and Duncan fought. We should be able to go there, I think, and maybe we will because of this:
"An opportunity to reclaim the lost arms and armor of a king"

How is it a waste if someone spends 5 bucks and gets a few hour enjoyment? Please explain? who are u to tell someone they get value out of 5 whole dollars? get off the soap box idiot.
how many times are you going to say this before they are done? how many "just $5" are there going to be before you start adding up how much money you're spending it, and compare it to what you'd spend on an expansion that would actualy come with a box and a disk and maybe a map/poster or something similar?

Give me more characters or something, that would be nice. Either that or give a developing story, not flashbacks.
You can't expect much more from dlc...anything expansive would have to be done either in:
a) An expansion.
Stupidity post aside (mine a bit further up ;p), I'll take whatever I'm given in terms of dlc...what can I say, I enjoyed the game and am more than willing to pay out every so often for new content. Perhaps I'm evil? Perhaps I'm evil and eat children and poop swastikas. Perhaps I also enjoy listening Chris De Burgh as I drink a nice chianti. Perhaps...

You are not going to buy it and you are certainly not going to change any opinions so why the crusade to bad mouth the devs and anyone who wishes yo purchase it? It isnt like you are going to influence the devs at all.
a lone voice of reason is still a voice of reason. and hey, clearly im far from being the only person who's unhappy about this. a lot of hte other posters would have prefered patches or the development of an expansion.

So wait, if you've finished the game, you have to go back to an early reload to play this? *sad face*
What gives you that idea?
"* To find the survivor play through Dragon Age: Origins until after the
village of Lothering and Journey to Bann Loren's Lands along the
Bannorn's northwest border."
The impressions I'm left with is that you can't get back to Ostagar until that time, but that anytime after that is fine. I don't know for sure since I've not played it.

$5.00 for some additional story, XP and loot beats the crap out of paying, say, $15 a month for an MMO sub, where the only "new" stuff you get is retextured monsters you killed in earlier levels.
Puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

No one is forcing you to buy it are they? It common sense. Ill support the devs i want to and enjoy every minute of it, if bioware keeps making games liek this and does the PC right they will get my money. The box and disk? LMAO, i dont buy games for the box or disc. I pay for content i wenjoy, I and i alone know what ill get my moneys worth out of, who are you to speak for me and others? get off your high horse.

Please explain how the announcement of new DLC precludes the development of patches and expansions.

compare it to what you get in the old expansions devs used to make and it really puts it into perspective. im still not convinced that any DLC really ends up being worth the money.

* An opportunity to reclaim the lost arms and armor of a king
* A second chance to add Dog to your party
Pshhhhh if this is all they could put in the description then I'm not buying. rather spend $5 on a good coffee.
For those that already have a dog this is basically:
fight some darkspawn that you have fought before in a place you have already been to
get a reskinned mix of jugger/warden armor
read some codex entries
Pass on this one.

$5 is nothing but the point many are making is, if people keep buying them... $5, $7, $5, $10... you get the point... it'll add up to the cost of an actual game eventually with maybe 5 hours total gameplay. DLC is definitely regression from expansions but is the "new sh*t" and makes money faster for the publi$hers.
It's up for an individual to decide if the money is worth it, not you. 5 bucks for new DA is more thn worth it for me, i support devs i feel deserve it. 5 bucks is more then adequate considering that only gets me 2 coffees. people spend money on a lot worse.

Comparing a 5 dollar dlc to a 30 buck expansion? may as well compare apples and oranges.
