Sneaky? You mean all people are that dumb and dont realise what they are spending? i think people realise full w ell, but are willing to based on Biowares lineage. please.

Well I'm not going to argue but I believe the whole idea of DLC is for quick profit at often less than value for money prices, or else they would simply return to the old expansion style. However, there are exceptions and some DLC is excellent and lengthy, as Fallout 3 proved on several occasions (like the extended ending which did incredible things for vanilla FO3). I hope we see something like that from Bioware.

IMO these are glorified item sales.

$7 for wardens keep (AKA best sword in the game)
$5 for Cailans sword/armor.

Bioware. My goodwill is gone. I am not a cow, and I won't be milked.

I am going back to NWN.

DLC adds replay value, doofus. No one is forcing you to buy it. Unbunch those panties, please.

I havent seen any fanboys making thread after thread on the forums telling everyone how great the DLC is and that they have to buy it. Where as the opposite is certainly true....

that's because we dont think DLC is a good idea. we'd like to see more content be made, but via a different outlet. if we dont take the time to point this out to the developers they'll think everyone is happy with it, when we're not. the only other alternative is just not spending out money on it, which many of us will also be using.

no, i dont love to complain, actually. there are very few things that i complain about. DLC is one of them. i do want to see more content. i dont want to see it as DLCs.

someone already summed up the math earlier. you keep buying these and before you know it your "just $5" has turned into nearly the price of a full game, and you've only gotten a few items and maybe 5 hous of gameplay out of it.

again, frog in a pot of boiling water... =]

then i suggest quit gaming, DLC has been prevalent the last 1.5 years and will continue to be. 5 hrs for 5 hrs of DA sounds liek a good deal to me, better then oblivions Horse armour.

I will happily return to Ostagar, but c'mon Bioware, does ALL your special armour have to be heavy?

Hahaha I a heard (well, read) a lot of people complaining that they felt $7 was too much for the other one. Now they lower it to $5 for the new one and people still complain. Wow

It would be free, there will still be people to complain. 5$ is nothing, 2cofee. They don't even last 1h. I'll buy it. And i enjoyed both dlc we already have. Call me fanboy if you want, because im a bioware fanboy, it's still better than being a blizzard fanboy.

Said complainers are more than likely not used to paying for their games, period. Perhaps its time to make the general forum for registered users only as well.

so this is how the game is going to be add more and more content for before you finish the game at 5-10 dollars a pop every month then? so if every owner bought ever DLC for 2 years that would be 120-240 in extra sale on top of the game. Well I can see this IP goes in the garbage. EA = money vampires. this series have now been ruined for me. Good buy dragon age. Until a Expack comes out i am not buying anything for his game. its bad enough thats its buggy as **** and there are no Console patchs to fix these issues.

I don't know about any of you, some people are pissed others are sad, some are excited. As far as I am concerned the DLC means 3 things to me. More stuff, more cash, and more XP. I am good. Bring on the DLC!

It seems to me that you are making the assumption that there wont be more indepth content released as expansions, because they are releasing a lot of DLC over the next few years. Using every other Bioware fantasy rpg as a guide says otherwise. As does taking into account how much effort and time they put into creating this world and its histories.

I am certain there will be full length expansions to come. Nothing wrong with some shorter fluff in the mean time. It keeps us engaged. Not like they are forcing you to buy anything.

What other group of enthusiasts would rail so violently against an optional $5 expenditure? Five dollars. I can FIND five dollars. I mean really people. Really?

You're acting like BioWARE is trying to squander your inheritance.

I've spent $5 for a few minutes of enjoyment before; and with the risk of VDs aside I think that there is no harm in spending $5 on this DLC.

Sounds sweet. But didn't the king have a two handed sword. Not a sword and shield. Still that sword and armor looks bad ass.

What's the difference between frequent DLC vs. waiting for an expansion? In the end you're probably going to be paying the same amount of money. I'd rather see new content on a regular basis vs. waiting 6-12 months for an expansion. With an expansion you have to buy everything whether you're interested or not. With DLC it's like ala carte, buy what you're interested in.

I guess I'll reserve judgment for now, but at first glance this seem like yet another pointless side quest that goes nowhere and has nothing to do with the main story. The game had too many of those as it is IMO. If that's what it turns out to be, I'm not sure if I'd download it for free, let alone pay for it.

If it doesn't advance the plot, what's the point?

that is an option that is certainly on the table for me.

i enjoy PnP games well enough. as much as id like to keep on gaming i will not become a cow to be slowly milked to death by the changes in the industry. developers and publishers have been gradually becoming more and more faceless corperations whos only consideration is to suck every last dime nickel and penny out of gamers that they can. that is not why i game. i game because good developers make great games that they see as fun, imaginative, and priced in a way that they see as fair.

this era appears to be disappearing, and many of the old guard like myself will likely be disappearing with it, if that is the case. i have no interest of being on a slow drip I.V. for the gaming industry for the rest of my life.
