So its been over a month since most of us have finished the game and I would love to know how people feel now that time has passed.

Has DA2 grown fonder in your mind or does the memory of it hurt more with each passing day?

Happy to be of service. Keep on being good-natured citizens, folks. Supergirl away!

I still don't care much to play it a second time. I've created several characters, but no matter what character I make and what intentions I want to give them for that run, I stop shortly into Act I. I've settled onto a free trial on EVE Online for now.

Edit: I think I only remain here on the off-chance that some decent DLC announcement (and then reviews) comes about. I also mean real DLC, not additional items. If I'm going to spend more money on this game, I'm going to make sure the product has been fan-reviewed this time.

I started a second run through but then got completely bored of it and I haven't touched it since. The re-playability factor just isn't there for me. The only thing that I got form this is that I wont be pre ordering another game and I'll wait for the price to come down for a new copy or just get it second hand.

Haven't played the game in a few weeks now. Opinion hasn't really changed. Quite unenthusiastic about the prospect of an expansion or DLC. Doubt I'll play it through again. Overall, disappointed. That's about it. Not mind-blown, not angry, nor even shocked. Just disappointed.

The more time passes the more disappointed I feel at the squandered potential of DA:O.

Played through it once. It was ok, but not great.

Been playing WoW (though now retired after playing off and on since release) and Shogun2 since.

Will prolly go back to Origins before i play DA2 again.......and actually Witcher 2 in 6 days or so......hmm thats going to take a lot of my time actually.

Uninstalled it and added some new mods to New Vegas. I spy with my little Rail Cannon scope a legionarie that is still moving

DA2 was simply a mass-produced mediocre product. Good for few uses, but nothing to special.

While a delayed start means it hasn't been a month for me, I find my opinion of DA2 improving over time. Not that I thought terribly of it to begin with, but my initial reaction was heavily based on the end game, which had its moments but felt like it could have been so much better.

However, I think back to things I liked such as the climax of Act 2, or the way quests just keep on coming back or having consequences, and realize I definitely want to play this game again some time. :)

I still think it's a decent game... it isn't great, I did like DA:O better. However, DA2 isn't horrible enough to go all emo-nerd-rage, slash my wrists, cry into my pillow and demand an apology from Bioware... then, if they don't give me my personal apology, take my meager earnings from the Taco Bell night shift and beg my mother to take me out of the basement room I'm living in and drive me down to Gamestop so I can buy the next RPG flavor of the month instead.

I dunno... that's just me, I guess.

DA:O I played several times and I still look for interesting mods that will tempt me to play it again.

DA2, a month later. I played first as a mage, during act 3 I quit the game, I simply did not care if I played it again.

A while later I played a rogue, thinking maybe I just didn't like being a mage. I lost interest mid act 2, but forced myself to kill the Ashirok, Act 3 I quit again bored.

This is the only rpg I can think of where I didn't care to finish the game. It is certainly the only game I have ever played where i finally just did a youtube search and saw the ending to the story that way. The game just wasn't fun, the cinematics were cool, but the rest of it just seemed like Bioware did the bare minimum to fill in the spaces between cinematics.

I've said it before, I truly think Biowares heart is in making movies. Kinda wish they'd cut to the chase and just go where their passions take them. Do a fully cinematic game, Heavy Rain style. Be the company that brings back the adventure genre, dunno.

But Tranzor the outside is scary! The basement is safe, and...hey! *Tickles Tranzor* I have not asked for an apology...yet. *sniffle*

Ahem... and I don't think you need an apology, I haven't seen any tears on your pillow so you should be good.  Image IPB

I won't spend much time arguing its merits and shortcomings, but I will say this: I only got about 4 hours into a second playthrough before I turned it off and didn't look back and secondly, I uninstalled it from my machine and I can't say I see myself bothering with DLCs and expansions.

As always, my memories tend to portray events in the past more extremely then they were.

In short: my opinion has not improved...

My opinion hasn't changed much, I was impressed by the rework of the battle system (The responsiveness was great with quick reflexes, that should be in battle, though please don't do the kung fu moves again), I was THROUGHLY disappointed in the story, disappointed in setting (repetiveness of both NPC's and maps, this was so evident of laziness), disappointed in characterisation and social interaction (It was there, but it was barely there, I would've liked more).

But perhaps most of all, I'm disappointed that the devs CONTINUE to seem in denial about how horribly this game is doing.

I didn't mind they tried something new, they had every right to do that. I DO mind being written off as a fan whining because I didn't get Origins 2 and just being told 'to crank the setting to Nightmare or Hard'.

The dramatic cutting in prices over here shows the games failure just over a month after it's released, so does the evident bribing of the free ME2 with the game when it was barely out for a month.

It hasn't exactly helped that the first offical DLC to be released since the game came out is an ITEM pack costing more than it's worth. After all the bad reviews, the fan critism, THAT was their answer?

I'm disappointed in this game, it was still... 'good' on it's own. Worth a play. But it's still bad for Bioware and abosultely HORRIBLE as the sequel to Origins. Like I said, I wouldn't be so negative about it if the we, the very fans and consumers of the game, weren't being treated like idiots.

Still waiting for patches in order to get 100% gameplay.

And I don't really care about the game, there are more important things to do and better things to look forward to.

I equate DA2 to Highlander 2: They both never happened. And yeah, I pretty much agree with your entire post(except for the combat, I really despise the trash mobs and them materializing right behind. And the removal of trap-making and the tactical camera are also huge losses for me)

Played through it once, some parts of this game I very much enjoyed.. probably the one positive thing i'll take away from DA2 is that they tried to tell us a better story, not just your standard cliche fantasy affair.

That is about it though, so many things just annoyed me throughout this game.. the choices that were made to allow some of what has been offered in this game (and alot that hasn't) just astounds me.. bioware you can do better.

Tried to play through it and second time.. haven't touched it in weeks with my new play through floundering in act II

well im on my 3rd run (got the game a few weeks late) and im still hving fun...whilst i do acknowledge most of the issues people have with this game not one makes me regard this game as anything but great.

I went back to DAO to prep backstory for my latest run and the combat (2h warrior) felt so slow and clumsy...but to be fair 2h always felt slower than the other classes in DAO
