I went with Kaidan in ME1, he was snarky enough to get me interested, and had a lot of maturity and emotional depth. He also clearly loved Shepard and showed it, despite his best efforts to be careful. It was adorable.

Then he broke my heart on Horizon, and I decided to not get emotionally involved again, instead choosing to go for casual sex! And who is the best source of casual sex? Garrus! Of course later on that got complicated... 

Also, obligatory link to my famous: Mass Effect 1 & 2 Romantic Arc post, where I go into all my justifications in elaborate detail.

We'll see what happens in ME3. I do have a "no romance in ME3 save" and one where I romance Garrus.

On the Tali note I liked her character in ME1, but her over obvious infatuation with Shep in ME2 made her seem kind of weak to me.  If she played a littler harder to get her romance in ME2 would have been more enjoyable, at least IMHO.

Well it always depends for Me... I'll propably do the same if the girl is a ****** Twilight reader... I'm more into the ''bookish and geeky'' type of girl, if one of those says something like that, I might fall for it.

but the Bookish and Geeky girls never do that, they hate clichés...

She has goat feet and crab hands after all. That's a little freaky. Liara's just got a tentacle head... which is kinda kinky when you think about it.

My canon Shepard has stayed single through the series (but not for lack of trying on my part):

• Me: Cool-looking character; don't you want to get to know him/her better?  :innocent:
• Galana: The mission must come first.
• Me: Come on.  Everybody needs a little love. 
• Galana: MISSION. 
• Me: Tough; I'm in control.  *Selects flirty dialogue option; recoils at how out of character it is; reloads.* 
• Galana: Mission? 
• Me:  Mission.

Guess she'll be forever alone.  Hooray for alternate Sheps!

For one thing my Fem!Shep treated her like crap in ME1 (just role-playing here though, I ain't a hater) and yet she still went to find her body for ME2. Granted, if she were portrayed just as the type of person who believes that Shepard is the only person who could save the galaxy like TIM does, it would be fine. But, we all know that Liara has at least a slight obsession with Shepard.

Kaidan was my FemShep's first love. I wish I could continue relationship with him in ME2 but on Horison he said it's over and we will never be together again. So he's gone... After that for a very long time I couldn't choose between Garrus, Jacob and Thane. I romanced them all but in the end I decided to stay with Jacob. Garrus is more like a big brother for me, and Thane... Well... like FemShep said "I feel something for you... Something more than friendship..." And yet... we are too different...
So I'm with Jacob. One of the reasons why I chose him - he is the only one who asks Shepard about what she feels. No one else did that. Except Liara...

for me its her voice not her character.

I went with Kaidan in ME 1 because Garrus wasn't an option (and I didn't know he was available in ME 2) and then went with my first love, Garrus, in ME 2. I'm sticking with him in ME 3, obviously. I like Turians and really like Brandon Keener's voice. Plus, Garrus is awesome. He was the coolest character to me.

Kaidan - because he was a guy who was mature and didn't have a ton of baggage. As far as ME2 went, Thane won out because he was intriguing (and attractive for an alien).

not sure who's side you're on with this one....

Well the model was very clearly not meant to be viewed that way, but we can see the humanoid features in game pretty clearly on a couple of instances so we know she's got your basic, two eyes/mouth/nose that humans have.
