Whoa, dude, you have issues. These characters are NOT REAL. It doesn't matter what reason I have for not liking them, every reason anybody ever has at all ever in the entire universe is legitimate because the only thing that matters in this context is our personal reactions.
You need to take a step back from this and realise that this is just a game and not reality. You're taking it all WAY too seriously.
If that's correct we can stop the discussion. Why did you start this thread then? Making a psychological study on a meta-level?
Also, i think you argue self-contradictory, if every reason is legitimate none is. That's the problem of strong relativism/constructivism.
What does this mean? Are there facts one can argue with? You denied this, see above.Malisin wrote...
She's 106.
Just because she's 'barely an adult' and a virgin, doesn't mean she's a child. She has several degrees and a PHD if I'm not mistaken. And even if you're equating it to human standards, 'barely an adult' would be 18, not 11.
By the way: youself speak of the characters as if the are real
To be consistent you should write "My personal reaction to Ash is to see her as..."Malisin wrote...

Lol, whatever dude. These are all personal reactions. That's the point. What isn't the point is getting up in arms over someone elses reaction to a fictional character. I, for instance, am not upset that some people find Liara's voice creepy. I don't understand that point of view as I just don't see how it could be considered creepy, but I'm not 'raging' against that person for having that opinion. Getting upset over someone else's personal opinion of a fictional character is just... weird. Nobody is dissing your real-life girlfriend or wife. We're all just expressing our personal opinions of the characters and exploring the reasons why we liked one and disliked another.1Minsc1 wrote...

If you are so invested in a fictional relationship that you actually get emotionally peturbed by someone else's opinion of that character, then the simple fact of the matter is that you have some fairly serious emotional issues that need to be dealt with by a professional therapist. Fiction is not reality; Ashley is not your girlfriend.

The question is on what level we discuss. An "in-game"-view or on a meta-level? I'm not insulted by anyones opinion, i just think you accuse others to switch/mix these levels, do it yourself and have very poor arguments.

What a tryhard.
Listen, we already figured out you're a loser. No point trying to hide that now.

Romances in ME2 were 3rd grade level.

And then suddenly I wanted her and I hope she will be a romance option for ME3, but - honestly - I don't think so. She hasn't quite the fanbase like Tali.
And: Why do I like her? I don't know, and that's REAL love ^^

I have romanced most of the possibilities, including Tali, Jack, Liara, Ashley and Garrus. I liked all of them, accept Ashley, I still don't particularly like her bigotry. Though that is why my Pro-Human Shep is dating her I guess lol

mine was pretty similar to this but i saved ash but the way she treated me on Horizon was unforgivable.Hah Yes Reapers wrote...
In ME1, I was going for Ashley. My character is a strong and stoic type of person, but was a noticeably different man around Williams. She had an energy to her that contrasted to Shepard's more "stable" demeanor. You could tell they had a thing for each other. However, I had to leave her behind on Virmire. It was akin to Bruce Wayne saving Harvey Dent over the woman he loves in The Dark Knight. Alenko is the leader that the Alliance needs, the leadership the Alliance will be needing in the fight against the Reapers ahead. Unfortunately, it leaves a void in the hero. Ash was the one person that could get Shepard out of his shell, and that was gone.
In ME2 I wasn't expecting to even like Jack. But I felt myself enjoying my talks with her, more than the rest of the squad other than possibly Mordin. I found her oddly likeable, and at the same time funny. And her loyalty mission made me gain a ton of respect for her. After that, I just really wanted to help her. Later, I wanted to show her that I truly cared. Eventually I totally developed feelings for her.
Once you try to pursue her is when it gets really good. She suspects your intentions and pushes you away, but it's pretty clear from what she says that she's really just afraid that she has feelings for you too and might want this. It's then, when Shepard teases the hell out of her, that you see that side of him again that you don't see since Ashley. When he comes out of his shell a bit and shows a side of him that he doesn't share with anyone else.
I always take her along to the final boss, and he typically catches her fall in the cutscene when the huma-Reaper is destroyed. It's like a sort of poetic moment of "redemption" after he couldn't save Ashley on Virimire, a symbolic moving-on kind of moment.

Tali for MaleShep. The way she gets all nervous around him is just to cute. Plus Liara even said Tali was crushing on him since the first one!

Just to get the paramour achievement, i created a renegade John Shepard, and romanced Tali. Took me 8 friggin hours to finally get it but i now have every achievement in the game.
If it were possible, my Jane Shepard would be enticed to go with Tali over Liara, but is bound by her sense of honour.

My FemShep was always diffrent, she couldnt figure what it was untill she laid her eyes on Samara, she tried to have her lover her, she felt something as well... but her code binded her, she will never give up on their love.

Female Shep - Liara T'Soni: This Shepard was going to be single but Liara just seemed to pull her in a direction that was unexpected. Liara makes Shep laugh, doesn't fall for the "soldier" speeches, knows when to give her space and gives her encouragement & strength in the most subtle of ways.

I never wanted to romance Liara because i wanted Tali, but with my second Shepard i tried it and i found it interesting.

I also plan to use the same char as a sub-main who stays loyal to Liara, got one who'll stay loyal to Ash. And I have a renegady shep I tend to play and finish first since I frankly don't care how screwed up he makes things, he was with Liara but went for Jack. I like Jack. Also love the line shepard throws at her when she says hes pushy or whatever and he says 'yeah im also technically undead'. I dunno why, I just always laugh when he says that all cocky like thats somehow a reason why its all ok.
I mean really? Its ok, im a zombie so we're all good.
Also plan to do some minor shift/re-saves for Miranda and the like just to see how that plays out but ultimately it wont be any major play through for ME2. Love the actress, and liked the romance options with her, was fun. But not to much into the char as she is in ME2, her complete acceptance and betrayal of Cerberus though at the end made me happy, very curious to see how she ends up in ME3.
So to wrap it up, Tali, cause shes awesome.

I also have Shepards who love Jack, Tali, Miranda, Ashley, and Liara and several who are waiting to pursue something more with Gianna, Joker, and Kasumi.
