I'll admit though, after reloading and listening to the conversation I found myself falling into the romance again anyway because I actually really like his character.. Interested to see how it all plays out in ME3.

I always complete the LOTSB before the SM, because the emotional punch of finally reuniting with Liara, only to have to separate to jump through the Omega 4, is actually fairly powerful.
As for the other characters...I dunno. I prefer to keep Garrus as a bro. Jacob is okay, but since I don't see him coming back as a squad mate in ME3, it could be a short lived, or long distance relationship.
Ashley is a ****.
Kaiden is a wooden tool.
Miranda is actually pretty decent.
I only romanced Tali once because I felt bad for her, and that's never a good thing.
Thane is actually very good. Too bad he might die.
Samara's relationship is...good? It's so rushed and brief, that even before she denies you, nothing really happens.

She's a strong character, perhaps too aloof and ice-queen-esque at first, but ultimately one of the characters that changes and develops the most over ME2, I feel the only other person that changes so significantly is Mordin.

In ME2, surprise surprise, I romanced Garrus. He's not my favorite character, but he's my favorite LI, so I decided sure why not? Imported my ME1 maleShep later on and stayed loyal to Ash, then made a new maleShep and went with Jack.

ME2 - Miranda and another game with Liara. Miranda because she too respected my awesomeness and just to have some variety. I stayed with Liara again the next playthrough because of not only of the reasons in ME1 but because of what she did for me to come back in ME2. Had it not been for her the galaxy would be lost.

When I first fired up ME2 I knew that you could cheat on your ME1 LI but I had absolutely no intention to do so with my "main" playthroughs.
After meeting Ash on Horizon I did [IMHO] exactly what the devs. were trying to goad me into .. I.E. to run to someone else for comfort.
Compared to the ME1 LIs in the base ME2 game [no DLCs] there was a new potential LI that was sweet, stuck by Shepard [in game], was willing to hear and accept the "coma" explanation, etc. ... Tali. Now I consider her my "main" LI.
As for what happens at the end of ME3 we'll see

Ashley is a fine woman. Religious (that's a plus for me), good in a fight, fun to talk to. But she just a shade of that "I got something to prove" in her.
Liara I suspect might be better for Shepard's mental state. She's the one shining, bright light in his life.

Serenity Shepard (Earthborn, War Hero, Vanguard): Romanced Kaidan, but after he broke her heart on Horizon, she found herself with Garrus

That was a freaking amazing story man makes me wonder what your other sheps are like if theres as interesting as the one you posted I would definitely love reading them.
On Topic:
My main Athrun Shepard Spacer/War Hero Paragon romanced Ashley in ME1 and after she gave me that smile post Eden Prime it was pretty much game over for anyone else. But after the big middle finger that was Horizon I was having second thoughts but that email she sent made me hold on because despite all thats happend deep down shes still the same Ash I've grown to love.
Thanks, I do have some others but I'm afraid I don't make them with quite the same amount of care/attention that I give my canon. They tend to be more goofy than anything. But I have been logging them into my blog lately for fun, check it out at: http://social.biowar...m/user_blog.php.

Teddy being an Adept can relate to the pressure of being a biotic, plus she enjoys that no-baggage carrying gentle nature Kaidan has
he's confident, sure of himself, and takes things slow like she does
Now the ME2 crew.... O_o yikes

I romanced Thane. I did, once, romance Kaidan AND stayed faithful but that was difficult. I also romanced Garrus, once, but again, that was difficult. I kept wanting to go back to Thane.
Yeah, it can be hard having a favorite. And you want to talk about difficult? My current Shepard is romancing Jacob. Jacob himself is fine; Shepard's dialogues are the problem. I have never reloaded a game more than I have while trying to make the interactions sound like natural attraction rather than sexual harrassment or invasion of privacy by Shepard. Poor Jacob.

He's a true and loyal friend. He has the utmost respect for you and you for him. He's completely badass yet awkwardly cute when you come onto him.
I like his romance story because it's as if you go in for casual sex but you both know it's so much more.

My Shepard, Eric Shepard, like your Shep fell instantly in love with Liara. She is beautiful, smart, witty, insightful, and is truly a "paragon", well in ME1. My favorite color is also blue, and her eyes are the most gorgeous shade of blue I have ever seen in my life. I have never romanced anyone besides her, call me corny but, once you go blue, nothing else will do

When I found out he was romanceable in ME2 (one of the happiest days of my gaming life), I went back right away and played an ME1 run where Shepard didn't romance anyone (temporarily and irritatingly derailed by Liara ninjamancing her, necessitating a restart of the game due to one unfortunate dialogue choice--thanks for that, ME1). Then I imported into ME2, and...gaming bliss!
