I have precisely this same problem, and have not been able to find a solution.

Very strange. I know during testing we had various paper doll (the model of your character in inventory) and portrait picture errors, but I thought we had had them all fixed. I hadn't seen any in the PC version for quite some time. Perhaps that can help me narrow down this issue. It's the first I have seen it being reported (though the forum moves fast) so it seems like it might be a rare one.
Just to be clear DrHojo, the portrait looks all funky like that after you start tweaking the hair? Is this also how you got that problem Apoptygmaa?
Since two of you have the issue, some PC specs could help isolate the problem if you have similarities between your systems.
Hopefully you can still enjoy the game otherwise, but I'll definitely look into this further.

Like someone on a different post stated mine also just 'fixed' itself. I swear this paper doll problem is connected to the graphics in Denerim, the entrance to that city is the first and only area of the game i've had any issues or crashes except for the paper doll carrying over afterward. Anyways, mine fixed itself after a very short time I'll tell you exactly what I did so maybe it'll work for you too. left Denerim for Orzammar bought crystals, left through main gate, auto save at Frostback Mountains, went to camp, CRASH, loaded Frostback save and everything is fine and dandy. Goodluck.

Bump- I got the game a few days ago, first thing I installed to a new pc. I'm using and older video card, but I've fived most framerate and graphics issues. The exception is that the ragdolls and portraits are corrupt in the same manner of the first post. If I create a new character the inital portrait looks fine but any change I make corrupts the portrait. The inventory ragdolls never look correct.

Are you aware that you graphic card does not meet the minimum requirements for DA:O under Vista? If you go here, you can see that the minimum graphic card required is a 7600GT 256MB.Giqu wrote...
